  1. Starters havent been pitching deep as much lately, exposing our middle relief which apparently sucks.
  2. Posted earlier He has gone 6 or less in 6 of his last 11 starts. In the 11 before that he went 7 in 10 of them. As long as he's not injured I think he will figure it out again, and I mean 5 innings of 0 or 1 ER is still pretty impressive.
  3. hahaha, sorry. That is the first one I've been duped on, and I should have known better
  4. I was going to say 'maybe going on the road is just what this team needs to get going again' But then I realized that i said 'maybe some home cooking is just what this team needs' at the end of the last road trip. Team is in a bit of a funk. A funk that all teams go through and honestly nothing to be overly concerned about (except Jake), but still sucks nonetheless
  5. At the end of the day its just 3 games in June. If they can't come back they are still 9.5 up, and if a "bad stretch" is 8-8 over 16 games, we're fine.
  6. Well this has not been a good week for the Cubs so far :( Hopefully the bats can wake up and our middle relief can hold them. The most important thing is Jake still not looking like himself
  7. Seriously though are we allowed to be a little alarmed about Jake even though he's still barely giving up runs?
  8. That's 6 double plays hit into this series
  9. Is Jake going to make it through 5 today? 83 pitches through 3.1 IP. In his last 11 starts he went more than 6 innings only 5 times. In his 11 starts prior to that he went 7 innings 10 times, and the one time he didn't it was his last start of the regular season and was on a pitch count limit, and still went 6.
  10. Why does Peralta always kill us?
  11. fwiw 2015-16 PER Robin Lopez - 17.66 Derrick Rose - 13.52 You are right I jumped the gun he is a solid player, but I was more hoping for draft picks and/or cap flexibility.
  12. wow I guess derrick had no trade value
  13. Of course it will. Just not nearly as often as it would burn pretty much any other pitcher. Trust me I get it and this is honestly just a byproduct of God Mode Jake from last June through the Wild Card Game. It's that and the looming issue of having to listen to Coomer soon. I'm not arguing with you, I have the same feeling even though the logical part of my brain tells me otherwise.
  14. Hard to say that about a guy with a 1.72 ERA, but I hear you. The issue is he still allows very little hard contact so he's usually able to create these jams and then get out of them. I don't disagree with that at all and I think it's a stupid way to feel. I don't care how good you are as a pitcher if you walk guys it will eventually burn you. Of course it will. Just not nearly as often as it would burn pretty much any other pitcher.

  16. From Jesse Rogers:
  17. Besides Seager and Story will both make it meaning Addison will get 2 PA max before being replaced. It's unlikely those 2 PA decide whether the Cubs win the World Series or not. Let's just have fun with it.
  18. I want my all Cub IF. He can come off the bench and get a big hit late so that game 1 of the WS is at Wrigley.
  19. [tweet] [/tweet] In case anyone was wondering, no these will never get old.
  20. Why the horsefeathers would they do that?
  21. I really hope there aren't any suspicious late surges to overtake anyone. Does Addy deserve to be an all-star? No, but horsefeathers it the rest do and I want an all Cubs IF with Dex in center. PS Changed the thread title because I think there were only 2 Royals in the last round of AL results so horsefeathers them.
  22. Is the mayor of Rosemont still offering to give the Cubs some land??

  24. total horse horsefeathers because this goes against what Tunney and the city originally proposed and the Cubs accepted. This is exactly how the Red Sox do it with their plaza, so hopefully we can make the best of it (or continue to try to strong arm them into giving in). The Cubs can still open up the plaza and sell alcohol at limited times on non-game days correct?
