  1. Well Lester had 3 Ks that inning so that's cool. Also got a ground out and line out
  2. This is how they were playing during that swoon
  3. i think he was making fun of the cubs Yup. Along the lines of what rocket said, it's felt like for a while now that if the Cubs fall behind early then they're basically done for the rest of the game. I miss the team that scoffed at opposing team leads. To that point I'm looking back and in only 1 of our last 12 wins has the opponent scored first
  4. Jesus the dude is at an elevated pitch count early the last thing you want to do is put the guy leading the league in steals on first due to a dropped 3rd strike
  5. Montgommery's last couple appearances with Seattle were starts right? I'm guessing he's stretched out another to go 4. Lester has nothing today
  6. Maybe they will stretch Chapman out to start
  7. Most good teams play a long chunk of the season at .500. The Cubs have played 33-32 baseball over the last 65 games. Most likely they will go on another run at some point and everything will be good again
  8. Well Lester might end his streak of games pitching into the 4th inning at 1
  9. Wasn't anything that bad. Our first 2 batters walked, Rizzo GIDP and zobrist struck out looking. This bottom of the first has been a lot more infuriating. 3 SB, one on a non pitch without even a throw made
  10. Well that was the most Lester run allowed ever.
  11. Another adventure in hitting with RISP and 0 outs
  12. I'm shocked his suspension ends with time to face the Cubs
  13. Seriously. lol Lol I go on follow sprees of cub fans and I guess I don't vet enough
  14. I wouldn't be all that bummed about Torres but I don't know if it will take that. I'm not huge on Torres, both because of what he profiles as and our need. I see him purely as trade ammo. I'd hope/think his standing could get us more than a rental reliever (a really damn good one but also with huge baggage), but maybe he can't. If they can deal him as the centerpiece of a package for one of those starters with team control they're looking for, that'd be great. I just really have no idea how the market values him. I feel like it almost will have to take a guy like Torres. Enough teams want Chapman and the Yankees at least have to get something as good as a first round pick since they would tender him even if they can't resign him. They won't get Joe Ross, but a teenager in A ball seems like a possibility. I don't even care about Torres that much either. I, too, just assume he could bring back more than a rental, but maybe not. I mean, the kid may never even play above Triple A for all I know. I don't know anything about anything but of the top 3-4 guys in our system (assuming Almora graduated which I think he did last week) Torres is the guy that I'd be most ok with giving up. Although for a rental I'm still not thrilled with the idea at all
  15. I heard he also gave her the cancer
  16. Hope this dude is a complete BSer
  17. None of that will happen. Really you don't think so? IIRC he promised to find the real killer. Oh wait nvm that was OJ
  18. [tweet] [/tweet] Starlin died for nothing
  19. I'd do it if he would sign an extension and could provide irrefutable proof he did not beat his gf and then fire his shotgun off several times in anger.
  20. I could like him again if he somehow turned into a lockdown ace in the playoffs and the Cubs won the world series. Other than that probably not.
  21. Another Brewers pitcher I've never heard the of and another one who has been dominating as of late (2.53 ERA in last 7 starts) But that's ok because Lester is back on track and ready to kill the Brewers
