  1. Can we just lock it into stone now that The Logan starts every playoff game thread and then the Cubs send him a ring after they win the World Series?
  2. Are you at an airport terminal in 1987? No, at my work using a stream that has not been approved for use by the MLB.
  3. checks out. that's .663 for the Cubs. If we finish this out today we are at 119-60 over 179 games. Thats a 107.7 win pace. Round up to 108 cause that sounds friggin awesome and the Cubs have played at a 108 win pace over an ENTIRE season of baseball at 179 games. & that was with a horrid month long stretch. Hell they are at a 108 pace & I'd guess underperformed their pythag. They have probably been playing closer to a 110+ win team for around 180 games. I am going to do something that makes absolutely no sense and remove the 5-15 stretch because I'll just pretend that like Javy forgot all our bench players names and it caused some disharmony that fractured the team for a month. Take that out and its 114-45 over 159 games, or a 116-46 pace over a 162 game season.
  4. I'm watching a grainy feed, is he still wearing puka shells around his neck?
  5. Regardless of whether he's actually good or bad, I'm guessing the Cardinals fans consider him a certified Cardinal killer.
  6. WWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
  7. Damn, one out shy of a QS (which is meaningless I know, 6 IP, 1 ER for some reason looks a lot sexier than 5 2/3 IP, 1 ER)
  8. oh look Grichuk with another XBH against the Cubs
  9. death, taxes, and some dumb cardinal with a stupid name will hit random home runs against the Cubs. We get him out when it counts: https://gfycat.com/SarcasticPleasantArgusfish\
  10. 97 pitches for Jake. Do you take him out and get 4 innings out of your pen with the huge lead, or do you throw Jake another inning to save the pen from a lot of work?
  11. I mean ideally you'd want to get 7 out of him (which wont happen at this point) but we still have a decently rested pen. I would say Montgomery is the only on that is for sure out today. -Wood has thrown the last 2 games but he only threw 17 pitches last night and 1 the night before. Before that he hadn't pitched since the previous Saturday -Chapman same thing but he only threw 3 pitches last night, he should be good although I'm sure if he had to go Joe would make him unavailable on Saturday so he'll try to avoid -Grimm only threw 10 pitches yesterday and I'm really not sure what his usage was in iowa but probably didn't pitch on Wednesday in Iowa -Smith only threw 9 pitches and before that hadn't pitched since last Friday -Edwards didn't pitch yesterday so should be good
  12. Isn't that only if the road team takes the lead in the top half of the inning that isn't completed? Otherwise, the score just goes back to the end of the last completed inning.
  13. I know Szczur was already hit but I doubt that was their intended target and it certainly wont be now that they are getting rocked.
  14. WILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY BOOM Rain stay away for about an hour
  15. Former Cubs news: https://twitter.com/MLBRosterMoves/status/764169595984850945 I really hope the situation isn't what this is implying...
  16. Just when we were praising Bryant for being rock solid at 3rd, a completely unforced 2 base error
  17. It doesn't really look like there is much rain at all coming towards Wrigley. Maybe for a delay or two but nothing that will shorten the game IMO.
  18. Man really want to see Javy get going again. At least he hasn't struck out his last few PAs
  19. This would be a good time to retaliate Waino
  20. I think you're making that up I remember that he was on the Cubs now that you mention it but I would have guessed he was on the team for a week or two at most not half the season
  21. As I typed the previous post I was listening to Kaps show when a cardinal fan called in and said that the Cardinals should absolutely throw at the Cubs to show that they aren't going to back down. He then went on to say that the Montomgery pitch was 100% intentional and the game situation didn't matter because the Cubs were up 12 games so if there was ever an opportunity to throw at a Cardinal it would be that exact moment. I realize that makes absolutely no sense I'm just repeating what he said
  22. How funny would it be if every Cub batter came up today wearing one of those helmets with the long earpieces to protect their face/head from the Cardinals headhunting. Basically acknowledging that the Cardinals have a reputation as retaliators and we know those douches are going to throw at us.
  23. Rizzo, because he dared take a pitch the ump called a ball. The Cardinals fans will say he got that call because he stands so far over the plate anything inside looks like a ball, so they need to throw at him so he backs off the plate.
  24. That's a [expletive] terrible plan with Jake starting. BTW Cahill has been spotted in the Cubs clubhouse today, I wonder if the Cubs are considering starting him today and moving everyone up a spot. They are going to have to use a 6th starter at some point between now and next Tuesday's DH No he's starting a game Tuesday. Iowa is on a road trip so they had him come to Chicago early to do his work here and travel less. Doesn't it at least make sense to consider it if the Cubs seem to be aiming for 5 innings today? With the off day on Monday, I don't think anyone's schedules would be thrown off. DFA Joe Ross and call Cahill up. Edit: I guess on the flipside, the Cubs have a 13 game divison lead so Jake only throwing 5 innings and like 70 pitches isn't a terrible thing.
