  1. Went on to say something about how they were astounded at the lack of preparation by Cutler
  2. ESPN has "flexed" Opening Day between the Cubs and Cardinals in St Louis to Sunday. Really wish that game was at Wrigley.
  3. How many players on this current roster would you say are possible/probable pieces for the future given what you've seen? Long Whitehair Howard Hicks Goldman Freeman Trevathan Floyd White? Some of these guys might only be pieces for 3 or so years (like the FA guys) and some of them might need more time to be definite future pieces. Also there might be other guys with potential to be on this list that aren't yet. Also I know Floyd is a stretch but I like what I've seen so far and he has 1st round pedigree so I'm putting him on there.
  4. Sounds like Howard has an ankle/achillies injury. Yay
  5. Not only an embarrassing loss but injuries to Long, Massie, Sutton and Goldman
  6. I'm starting to think the Bears are not that good
  7. So glad we hired the coach that will maximize talent and have his team prepared to play coming off a bye week
  8. Doesn't look like Kyle Long banging on the cart did Cutler much good. This is one of his worst games in a bears uniform
  9. This is going to be a strange question. 2 QB league but the second QB spot is really a QB/RB/WR flex. Almost always makes sense to start a QB here Stafford is on a bye so... Start 1 QB 3 RB and 1 Q/R/W flex from the following: Russell Wilson Bryce Petty Ezekiel Elliott Melvin Gordon Todd Gurley Rashard Jennings Wilson Elliott and Gordon are locks obviously. I think it's really coming down to picking 2 of Gurley Kelley Petty
  10. So they want to sign him to...get revenge on us? http://chicagocubsonline.com/archives/2016/11/report-cardinals-make-play-dexter-fowler.php
  11. Then you strangely have no clue the power that Iowa City holds over Michigan. Your horsefeathering basketball arena is a place wolverines go to die as well. Actually this feels kind of good to get this worked up over sports again. I thought I was going to be permanently numb Nah, it does feels like we always play Michigan tough. I still lose sleep over Iowa's game at the Big House in 1997. I really thought Michigan was almost Alabama good (still may be, they just missed some big plays and made some dumb ones) and I didn't see how Iowa could hang with them. If you think about it coming into this game they struggled against Colorado, struggled against Wisconsin and curb stomped Penn State. All at home. They played 2 road games before this, one was close enough to be fairly close against a team that isn't going bowling. Sure they've completely destroyed all the other cupcakes we've played but they've played 3 good teams before today and had issues with 2 of them. I have no idea how Penn State is any good
  12. Man that was probably the most painful Michigan football loss in 9 years and it doesn't even mean all that much in terms of their shot at the playoffs

  14. The 2 best seasons since Carr retired, Michigan has gone 20-3. 2 of those losses were to Iowa at Kinnick horsefeathering stadium
  15. horsefeathers Iowa and horsefeathers Kinnick stadium Iowa NSBers you're cool. This horsefeathering blows.
  16. Kinnick is poison to Michigan. Had a really bad feeling heading into this one as everyone else was happily predicting 30 point wins
  17. Just execution failures all over. Give a lot of credit to Iowa but Michigan is also doing everything possible to lose his game and with that penalty it looks fairly likely that they will
  18. Let's say Michigan loses this (and I hope not). With Clemson and Washington also losing who is your new top 4? Bama obviously. Ohio St and Louisville almost certainly. The 4th spot would have to be between Clemson and Michigan right? Can't see a 2 loss Wisconsin or Penm State over the 1 loss teams. Maybe Texas A&m against since they seem to like them? Edit: except they are losing with 30 secs left. What a wild day. 2,3,4,8,9 could all go down
  19. I have watched over 7 million football games, and that is the first time I have ever seen that called The funny thing (well for me I guess) is that by how they described it (have to give the center a second before barreling them over) the call was dubious
  20. The funny thing is that Michigan can hypothetically afford to lose this game if you believe that there is no way a 1 loss Big Ten champion could be left out of the playoff
  21. Kinnick + Michigan = talent levels don't matter We keep making mistakes but are still in this (would be tied if it weren't for that drop.) I did think Iowa would play with energy but thought Michigan was too good for us to keep it close. Now it's feeling a little like when Iowa upset Penn State in 2008. Still think Michigan pulls away. Iowa Penn State is the exact scenario I was thinking about before this game as a worst case scenario for this game. That said that Iowa team was better than this one. Michigan has a great D but when they struggle it's against the run and Iowa has taken advantage of that tonight. Plus Michigan making a ton of dumb mistakes
  22. Kinnick + Michigan = talent levels don't matter
  23. Well that's embarrassing
  24. Seriously though how great is technology? When I was in high school in the late 90s, once you saw a game and the sportscenter highlights the next day, you would pretty much never see it again. Now I can quickly queue up a video of every Cubs home run in an entire season spliced together seamlessly.
  25. I always found it funny that several of the streets around Wrigley had the same names as current/former Cubs. Obviously there's Clark Street (Mark Clark or Dave Clark but that's a stretch), Addison (Russell), (Mark) Grace, (Corey) Patterson, (Trevor) Clifton, Wellington (Castillo). It's too bad Gary Sheffield was never a Cub.
