  1. Man that logo is awful, and the powder blue color scheme was the best thing they had going for them.
  2. I thought you were making some joke that I didn't understand. Nope, they are really playing in a soccer stadium for 2 years. How could the NFL approve that? Pretty sure there is some sort of requirement to play in a stadium with a minimum capacity more than 30k
  3. Man I really hope he can have a bounceback year and at least be decent. He's a very likable dude.
  4. The Chargers have fired San Diego; expected to name Los Angeles their new home. Seriously though, this is a complete disaster right? How do you take a market with 0 teams and then throw 2 teams in there and expect fans to basically pick sides or something? If Spanos is hoping San Diego fans will still follow the team and make the drive, it doesn't seem like it. The last time a team from San Diego packed up and moved to LA, they still don't have much of a die hard fan base 33 years later.
  5. Oh man I read that as Jonathan Allen at first. That would have sucked. The more I read about him, the more I'd be apt to put him at the very top of my draft board.
  6. I'm stealing the joke, but he already did walk away from basketball for an extended period of time. What was it, 7 games he played between May 2012 and Oct. 2014? 10 but that doesn't include preseason and Team USA
  7. You also see how much influence Theo has in the organization too seeing as a majority of the owners are well known GOP backers and one of them is in Trump's administration.
  8. Well of course we had, but we can't see beyond the halo over St. Hillary's head
  9. You tried to bring politics into a thread about our world series champion baseball team continuing the celebration of their title. Don't get upset if you get strong rebuttals from those that like to keep their politics and sports separate unless they are truly intertwined.
  10. Go back to jehr's original post from before this got out of hand (as political discussions usually do nowadays); his original statement didn't use the word "equally" - that inference was added later by people who disagreed with him. I read his original post as him simply being unhappy with both (main) candidates, which sounds fair. A lot of people including many in the politics thread that is obviously very left slanted agree that both main candidates were not good choices, but pretty much every person understood and understands the difference between an unlikable hillary and the raging unhinged lunatic trump.
  11. He should walk away. There is something wrong mentally with Rose and its seemed that was for the past 2-3 years. His erratic behavior is concerning. Take some time off and come back when he's 30 or something.
  12. this is dumb No, not really. It's time to get over it. What's dumb is acting like one of those two was a saint who was going to fix all of our problems while the other was a knuckle dragger. They were both terrible candidates. Yes that's exactly what we were doing in the Politics Thread, we were canonizing Hillary Clinton.
  13. UMMM YES [tweet] [/tweet]
  14. Apparently it looks like Derrick Rose no-showed his game w Knicks tonight and no one knows where he is. Officials said it was not for "personal reasons"
  15. This is the worst weekend of football ever. I mean most of it is just bad luck with all the injured QBs but it's hard to argue against the quality of play being down league wide after watching this
  16. A Bulls Raptors playoff series would be epic
  17. The good ran out of HIMYM much earlier than it did for the office, and it never came close to the high levels. Agreed that its peak was much higher, but both had that element of stubbornness to watch to the end, even though it sucked. The Office also at least rewarded with a decent finale. The Office is probably the only show that I watched religiously for 5+ seasons but then didn't have the will to finish. I did love the last episode though. You are right though, HIMYM drew me in emotionally because it was the 'early-mid 20's post college' set show that I got into while I was in my early-mid 20's post college. The first 3 seasons were pretty fresh, it was funny and the storyline was interesting enough. It wasn't amazing TV or anything but it was a quality show. Starting in season 4 the quality started to dip, they started exaggerating character quirks (which many shows do but HIMYM took this to an extreme), they started adding more and more filler episodes to stretch out the main story arc. Season 4 was still ok but starting with season 5 it just plummeted badly. There was maybe 1-2 good episodes a season. Season 9 was an absolute travesty punctuated by the kick in the balls that was the finale. You can put season 9 up against the worst final seasons of TV sitcoms and it holds its own. And there are some pretty terrible final sitcom seasons.
  18. I probably have watched worse shows all the way through, there was a time where HIMYM was actually pretty decent early on but the last few seasons I was just hate watching. I can't even figure out which is the worst show I've watched all the way through. I've seen every episode of Designated Survivor so far and I think its a pretty bad show but its only in the first season. I probably watched every episode of Full House when I was a kid.
  19. Everyone probably has their own underrated favorite moments in this season that aren't commonly cited but for some reason stand out to you. #99 was one of those for me. The Cubs were still in that period between the Pre-ASB swoon and August's pure dominance. it felt like one of those games that the Cubs were just not going to win. So I was kind of half watching while doing other stuff and finally sat down to see that Cubs rally. Seeing Rizzo get that huge double off a tough lefty was very satisfying.
  20. He also only made 4 All Star games in his entire career somehow. What the hell were the people picking All Star rosters in the 90s doing? (Frank Thomas also only made 4 All Star teams in his career)
  21. Sorry if posted already. Kind of cool I guess, but what the world does not need is more college bowl games. I wouldn't mind it if there was at least one P5 conference affiliated with the bowl though. Based on their comments they seem to think that a Sun Belt vs. Conference USA game would sell out because its Wrigley. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2017/01/05/report-cubs-pushing-to-host-annual-college-bowl-game-at-wrigley-field/
  22. The question is, do you trust that the Bears have the coaching necessary to take on a talented QB but one that might need some development to reach potential? I'm looking at our QBs coach (Dave Ragone) and his claim to fame as it pertains to QBs is coaching Josh McCown in the United Football League in 2010. Going higher up the chain, it looks like the QBs Loggains has worked with in his career include Cutler in 2015 (largely credited to Gase), Brian Hoyer (w Chicago and Cleveland) Johnny Manziel, Jake Locker, Kerry Collins (late career Titans version), Vince Young, Matt Hasselback (late career Titans version). I dunno I'm not sure I trust this coaching staff to develop a QB properly.
  23. I also found it funny that their projected 2020 lineup/rotation has 10 of the 14 guys already on the MLB roster (Contreras, Rizzo, Baez, Russell, Bryant, Schwarber, Almora, Lester, Hendricks, Montgomery). I don't think I've ever seen the Cubs list come anywhere close to that.
