OK this picture kind of confuses me. I forget what game/season this was in and the Cubs catcher looks like he's wearing #13 which as we all know was Starlin's number with the Cubs. Are my eyes just playing tricks on me?? Edit: nvm its Soto, there is a white piece on the back of his chest protector that obscures the rest of the number 8. That fucked with my head for awhile.
Miggy! I feel like his back is fucked up again...the last 2 HR trots I've seen from him he looks like he's laboring around the bases. Edit: NM it was a leg injury
This is one of those 'observations that is definitely wrong but I cant help myself' I feel like whenever the wind is blowing way in, the opponents still seem to find a way to hit HRs more often than we do.
- they still play 7 consecutive days after this one so if all the games are close and the SPs keep leaving in the 5th/6th, they're going to be using suboptimal 7th inning guys - Uehara should be off limits having pitched yesterday - Rondon and Davis have both pitched in 2 of 3 games and would rather not be used if you can help it - by the 7th inning Montgomery is gonna be thought of as a long reliever to protect the pen in extras That leaves Grimm/Strop/Edwards as a pretty logical progression if you can get away with it, although the circumstances might change this slightly. It's pretty clear that Joe is basically punting today though, he could've started Contreras and could've used Montgomery for 1+ inning instead of Duensing. I'm going to have to give you a warning for using logic in the Game Thread Forum.
Steven Wright, most recently seen losing to the Cubs, is out for the year with a knee injury apparently. https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/1290579?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
