  1. Only 3 more runs until we are in Rondon range (makes me sad to say that)
  2. i horsefeathering hate side armers....like irrationally loathe them
  3. So you want Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo to completely change the approaches that gave them all their big-league success? Oh please. It's called adaptation. You try to be able to adapt to any situation. And those guys have had plenty of success in their careers when they don't hit high fly balls. John Jay realized that he needed to homer there and boom, adaption - game tied.
  4. Surely THIS is the play that turns the season around
  5. But yesssss 95 MPH fly balls carried out by the wind
  6. Can anyone smart put together some stats on the Cubs luck this year? I feel like the Cubs have been one of the 3-4 least lucky teams in baseball this year. Looking at some quick googling, the Cubs are 24th most lucky team with regards to cluster luck, I know their BABIP for and against are both among the worst in the league. Not sure about strand rate or any other factors that might influence luck. Anyways, my impression is that the Cubs have gone from one of the luckiest team in baseball last year in many factors (though not pythag) to least lucky teams this year.
  7. it does feel like one of those days where a late comeback is possible
  8. So if we lose this one, safe to say that the comeback against the Nationals WASNT the turning point of the season if they immediately go 1-4 afterwards?
  9. damn i thought that was going to carry at least to the wall.
  10. Somewhere there is a Rays fan saying 'wow Snell is getting it done today, I think he's turning it around'
  11. Today's inexplicably bad defensive play made just to piss John Lackey off is brought to you by Ian Happ.
  12. Wow Almora just swung at 2 straight pitches, one was in the dirt and very next pitch was above his eyes
  13. Haha ouch, 3-0 popup with 2 runners on to end the inning.
  14. One of these days Zobrist is going to come up in a big spot and "IIIIIIIIIIIIII I FEEL ALIVE I FEEL LIKE THE AIR IS RUSHING IN" is going to blast over the PA and the crowd is going to go nuts a la Rick Vaughn/Wild Thing in Major League 2
  15. huge news, thank you for the unique local insight that hasn't been talked about anywhere else.
  16. Geez, he's not exactly a household name for casual fans but he's been on the radar since the first NCAA title game run at Butler and took the most famous missed halfcourt shot in basketball history
  17. Speaking of Lackey, the wind is blowing out today. He's currently on pace to allow 47 HRs this year, just 1 off the all time NL mark. Probably a good day for him to get on pace.
  18. Damn Snell's numbers are awful this year. They are actually a little worse than Lackey's albeit with only 9 starts
