  1. Good sport, definitely not completely broken. like 10 total teams have ever won a world cup or a premier league title Haha that's actually an interesting point because in sports like soccer, college football and college basketball you can have rewarding seasons without having a shot at winning a title whether the goal is to get promoted to top league, make the knockout rounds in regional or world cup, make the sweet 16, make a BCS bowl game, etc. And I'm totally on board with those things...I greatly enjoyed Michigan making a run to the sweet 16 this year and winning BTT, etc. But for some reason that does not translate for me to the NBA and I'm not sure why.
  2. We might have something in this Happ kid. I'm glad Joe kept playing him most days while he worked through his initial adjustments. The power increase is crazy...19 HRs already this year between Iowa and Chicago.
  3. Hey we've won 3 of our last 5 road games, we're back on track baby! The Nats series will be tough, but I think we at least split in Miami if not win 3 of 4, and should take 3 of 4 from the Reds. Looking at 6-5 or 7-4 for the trip IMO
  4. Well that sucks but we can definitely use his cap savings more efficiently
  5. If he doesn't retire but doesn't play we still get the same cap hit for him, we just don't get the punitive additional cap hit right? Or is he put on some injury list that relieves us of the cap hit?
  6. Seager, now Bellinger. Dodgers are enjoying another rookie run like back in the Piazza/Mondesi/Karros years For half a season in 2015, they had something in Joc too. Cubs will bring it back with Eloy next year. Don't forget Puig!
  7. The Cubs have scored 10 total runs in almost 5 games against the Padres this year
  8. Predicting the correct lineup that Joe will trot out each night including batting order and position has to be about as difficult as picking the first round of the NCAA Tournament correctly at this point right?
  9. rumors all over the place -Jimmy pushing for trade to Cavs -Jimmy has been recruiting Lowry to come to Bulls with him -Kyrie Irving might push for a trade to Bulls to play with Jimmy if LeBron opts out after next year Not sure what to believe anymore.
  10. Say what? As long as they don't hurt him I welcome a free baserunner via HBP to start the game in the bottom of the first tomorrow Nah, PA #2. We know he's getting on that 1st one no matter what
  11. He seems to be a complete shutdown closer 80% of the time and Rod Beck the other 20% of the time (gets it done but looks like he's laboring to do it). As long as he gets it done whichever is fine by me.
  12. Thank God the season finale of Better Call Saul is on
  13. i love how after sweeping us they went out and lost 7 of their next 9 games
  14. Lester is barely hanging on to the Cubs lone sub 4 ERA starter (3.99)
  15. I forgot this series was at Wrigley...3 game homestand in between 6 and 11 game road trips
  16. End of prime player that will be paid for past production and championship pedigree while solving none of the Bulls most glaring issues? Umm yeah this is a GarPax move all the way.
  17. Screaming A Smith said on First Take that the Bulls tried to trade Butler to Philly for #3 but it didn't work out, now Boston is trying to offer 3 plus more (didnt say whether it was players or picks) for Butler and he thinks it will get done.
  18. So lefty comes in and gives up a single, HR and 2B to the lefties he faces and gets both guys batting right handed out. Nice
  19. Assuming a 33 start season (his career high), Lackey is on pace to give up 47 home runs this season, which would be 1 behind the NL season record of 48 set by Jose Lima and 3 short of the all time record of 50 by Bert Blyleven. Yay?
  20. Couldn't make it the whole game without giving up a bomb could you dickwad?
  21. Hurt his hand trying to make a sliding catch in foul territory earlier. He stayed in the game and even took an AB being being removed so guessing it's not too bad.
  22. Have home plate umpires been worse than normal this year? If so my theory is that the mainstreaming of pitch framing has flustered the umpires who are now overthinking things
  23. It's almost as if Heyward and Almora are not ideal 4 and 5 hitters
