  1. Baseball is a crazy spot. One week you are going 5-2 against the Dodgers and Nationals, the next you are in the process of being swept by the Reds.
  2. So is ours. The main difference is they have 4 less against Milwaukee. Plus they have a heavy dose of Reds and Pirates. But, it's not like our 2 vs. the Rays and 3 vs. the Mets are a huge swing. Also, they are 4 back. Just take care of business and we got this. I think the 7 against Milwaukee and St Louis are actually a major advantage to us. It's very difficult to win 5 of 7 from a team. If that happens, sure we will be in some trouble, but most likely one of the teams goes 4-3 and the Cubs either gain a game or lose a game while burning almost 30% of the remaining schedule.
  3. Geez, the Cardinals schedule is pretty light Already played: 4 @ SF (3-1) 2 @ SD (2-0) Upcoming 2 @ SD 3 vs. PIT 3 vs. CIN 3 @ CHC 3 @ CIN 3 @ PIT 4 vs. CHC 3 vs. MIL I dont think they will catch us but they may make us sweat to the end if we continue slacking.
  4. The last time the Bears opened up the season against the Falcons at home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sz8DHn1qX10
  5. i mean it's been said like 100x that sanchez wasn't really here to play, but to be a guy in the meeting room to mentor about what it's like to suck in the nfl and blah blah blah. his relationship with prescott last year has been brought up a lot too. i think it's a load of horsefeathers but clearly they believe he has value in that role as basically a coach under the guise of a fellow player. for whatever reason I hadn't heard that. seems stupid to waste a 53 man roster spot on a mentor but whatever.
  6. So whats the point of having Mark Sanchez as a 3rd string QB?
  7. He claims he was hacked? Hahah
  8. Brewers have already gotten 2 runs back without recording an out. 6 more outs left for the pen to get
  9. Tough to win when you don't have Rizzo, Russell, Schwarber, Contreras, Heyward, etc in the lineup. I know Heyward sucks and Schwarber can't hit lefties but still, can't win too many games with Caratini and Rivera in place of Rizzo and Contreras.
  10. Well 4 runs scored in our last 3 games, best 2 pitchers go 0-2. Not good
  11. God I feel like Maddon isn't even trying. Throwaway lineup tonight and now Heyward is leading off the 9th against anreally tough lefty
  12. And we're tied. Maybe the offense will wake up
  13. Dammit I thought Rivera got enough of that
  14. Why does Cincinnati feel the need to protect a 2-0 lead by bringing in the dude who started twice against the Cubs in August giving up 14 combined runs in 7.1 IP?
  15. what did we have 5 hits that inning and only 2 runs? blah
  16. So uhhh...how's rehab going Willy?
  17. who are these nobodies hurting the Cubs playoff chances with their home runs?
  18. Phew. Not idea but I'll take it. Should be good as long as we don't outright lose to Panama
  19. And if he doesn't we just blame it on Duke
  20. Someone get that man some potato chips
  21. Kinda shitty for a rookie making his 2nd big league appearance to have his inherited runners trusted to a position player. dude might not have a long career and his career ERA will be that much higher because an OF allowed both of his runners to score
