    Nope. He flippin' sucks right now and Szczur isn't around to lend a bat. Geez I hadn't realized what a slump he is in .213/.355/.307/.662 since Sept 3rd. That said, I don't worry about Rizzo slumps, they seem to last about 3 weeks and he comes out of them instantly it seems like. He will be mashing by the time the playoffs start.

    This is a good sign. In the last 3 regular seasons, the Cubs are 0-3 in games to clinch a playoff spot. In those playoffs however they are 5-1 in games to clinch a series.

    I think it's obvious that Joe wanted Carl to get some work entering the game in a jam and intentionally walking the first 2 batters is not good form so he did the next best thing. Edit: I just realized that hitting the first 2 non-Dex Cardinals would be the next best thing so the next best thing after that.

    i went to the loss (iirc to pittsburgh?) in 2015 and had no idea they were coming back out to celebrate. Same, I went across the street to the Cubby Bear and noticed the celebration on tv there( I hate the Cubby Bear but we had out of towners with us that insisted on going there) Actually the game I'm referring to is the day before. They would have clinched with a win at the Friday game (and had the tying run on 3rd with 1 out but couldn't score), but instead they lost and then that night the Giants lost, clinching the spot. The next day they had planned to celebrate win or lose but I don't think they told anyone beforehand.

    (quasi realistic) Best case scenario for the Bulls is: -Markkanen shows signs of being a potential star -Dunn and Valentine look like legit role players -LaVine looks healthy by the end of the year and actually looks to have improved his game -Hoiberg's offense actually works with more athletic players and better shooters -Bulls get the #1 pick -Propelled by one of the more heralded #1 picks in awhile and a potential complimentary star, the Bulls can use their cap space, projected to be one of the top 2-3 highest to lure someone like Cousins -Gar is fired, lifting the black cloud over the org and at least beginning to turn around the outside perception of the org

    I went to the game where they would have clinched with a win in both 2015 and 2016. They lost both games. I really wanted to see the Cubs jumping around on the field like a bunch of delirious 10 year olds, but wasn't to be. I'm staying the hell away from this game, don't worry.
