  1. Why would it be annoying? The polls mean nothing. (Yes UMFan is ripping on caring about power rankings. It's been that kind of weekend)
  2. Bottom line is Pace fucked up that pick badly. I didn't think the Bears needed to spend such a high pick at WR when we had so many holes all over but was not completely against it. But the dude was hurt when drafted and has been hurt basically the entire time here. It might not be fair to judge him based on the 5 sporadic NFL games he's played but regardless he hasn't shown anything in those 5 games that makes me think he will be any good. pace has drafted pretty well during his time here (or at least relative to his predecessors) but he fucked that one up
  3. Split against the Brewers and Rays, go 3-4 against the cardinals and take 2 of 3 against Mets and Reds. That's 10-9. Brewers would have to go 10-5 in their other 15 games to tie the Cubs (11-4 to overtake) and the Cardinals 8-4 in their 12 other games (9-3 to overtake). Oh and the Cardinals and Brewers still play 3 against each other so 1 of those teams has at least 2 losses already. I know it's difficult to imagine the Cubs going even 5-6 against the Brewers/Cardinals not to mention 5-3 against the other teams with how they played this weekend but the numbers are still good. The Cubs will play better.
  4. Yeah why wouldn't the one guy on the bench that can catch a mistake and hit it 450 feet be hitting here? I think the Brewers paid off Joe Maddon before the series
  5. And yet 2 of the games the opponent has scored 2 runs and 3 runs. Yesterday was bad but in general we have had every opportunity to win 2 of the games. We just can't hit right now. At all.
  6. So in the biggest series of the season the Cubs have scored a total of 3 runs (with an inning to go) and 2 of those runs came after the Cubs trailed 15-0
  7. As pointed out on Tuesday, the pitchers they were going to face for five straight days were pretty talented. They are still underperforming despite that. I mean yesterday they were being blown out after the 3rd inning and in a spot where pitchers are bound to give up some runs because they are pitching to contact and trying to get outs and the Cubs only got a HR on a pitch Schwarber was jammed on and whatever happened in the 9th because I wasn't watching.
  8. Call me nuts but I have a weird feeling the Cubs put together one of those out of nowhere late inning rallies to win it. The feeling probably comes from being unable to believe or accept that the Cubs get swept this weekend
  9. This would be 16 runs in the last 8 games with half of them coming in 1 game, 8 in the other 7 games
  10. Seriously though...Heyward cannot play while the offense continues to struggle. I don't care if you have to play Alex Avila in RF Also why not have Contreras bat there? Can someone wake Joe up and remind him we are about to blow 60% of our division lead to 2 teams in 3 days
  11. The Cubs will start hitting again, that's how baseball works. But how long it takes for them to start hitting again will decide the division. Too many H2H games left
  12. Now back to our regularly scheduled "Cubs can't put the division away"
  13. That was a very 2016 Bears finish. Close but no cigar. Reminded me of the end of the titans game last year all the way down to the dropped almost TD The offensive line was absolutely terrible on that last drive. Glennon was pressured almost every dropback
  14. 4 yards a carry is ok but he hasn't shown that explosion we saw last year. It looks like he's the power running compliment to Cohen the way the touches have gone as the game has progressed.
  15. This was really not a good time for the offense to go through their coldest stretch of the season.
  16. Omg tackle that [expletive]
  17. I forgot what it was like to chat with Kyle about sports. Welcome back. Admittedly that was a really nice pass by Glennon to Cohen in the end zone.
  18. [expletive]. They've played fine. That was a ridiculously unacceptable play but it doesn't erase 3 quarters of mostly above average play. The Bears should have called a TO before that snap, they looked really confused so I wasn't surprised when Ryan found someone wide open
