    Back to 6 games against the White Sox including a 3 games at GRate the 2nd to last week of the season. That is the first thing that jumped out at me Edit: Also 10 game road trip to start the season? Geez

    It sounds like they aren't ready to put Willy in full games yet. They activated him because there was no where to rehab and they could use his bat for PH. But yes i am fine with this once he starts and if the offense hasnt gotten their horsefeathers together.

    Yeah they pointed that out on the broadcast. Since he is shorter and has a low center of gravity, normal tackling angles won't necessarily bring him down. Actually Barry Sanders had similar elusiveness and I'm assuming this is part of the reason why (although he was 2 inches taller than Cohen).

    To me it seemed like a situation that evolved as the game progressed. To me the thing that shocked me was him getting a high number of snaps on the final drive including some where Howard wasn't on the field at all. Obviously the drive was going to be pass heavy and Howard was one of the better backs in the league at pass blocking last year. So to not have him on the field means 2 things: 1) don't trust Howard's receiving ability 2) cohens ability to make plays outweighed any benefits of Howard's blocking. Maybe Cohen is a good blocker as well but given his size I doubt he's as good as Jordan

    They were 32nd at getting turnovers last year and got 0 yesterday. May be just a coincidence. Well lets see...6 of their top 8 players in the secondary including all 4 starters were not on the team or didn't play last year. Then you look at the games missed by the front 7...its probably a good idea not to use last year's defense as data points. You have 1 data point, which is yesterday against a team that gave the ball away less than any team in football last year (tied with NE). And given that a majority of their offense from last year returned I think its fair to use that as a data point. I'm not saying the Bears are peak Lovie Smith era turnover machines, just that we really can't say one way or the other at this point.

    If there's one thing we've learned about this core of Cubs, its that they suck when they have to play a bunch of games in a row (although I suspect this happens to all teams). Day off today and a day off next Monday should be really good for this team.

    He was hurt when he was drafted? Proof of this? This pick was just awful luck, period. It wasn't even considered a reach. I feel awful for White, too, but I didn't expect to get jack horsefeathers out of him. I figured him a bust last year when I actually saw him play. I might be remembering wrong but I thought the story was that he injured himself during the combine but it was thought to be a minor injury

    According to PFF, Ryan was pressured on a third of his dropbacks so not sure what you are getting at there. That's pretty good. Secondary was always going to be a weak spot and they weren't great but they did get third hands on 2 balls and really limited downfield throws. The run defense was stout and held one of the more explosive backs in the league to 3.1 YPC and no runs (besides Ryan's scramble) longer than 7 yards. The tackling was poor and not just on that one play but overall you have to give some consideration to the fact that this is a top 3 offense and in this era you aren't going to get the 2005 Bears allowing 10 points a game. Actually the more I type this post the more I realize how off base you are.

    I don't know blowing a 5 game lead with 22 left qualifies as some degree of a collapse. But we haven't blown anything yet. We've lost some games off our lead. I know I was addressing your last sentence

    Yes it's 1969 all over again. Now you don't have to watch. This is more of a battle to see which team can suck less.

    For all the frustration about the defense and those 2 plays, fwiw last year the Falcons scored less than 23 points in just 1 of their 20 games. Yes it's a different season but I think it was a pretty good effort
