  1. 16th time in 29 starts that Lackey has given up at least 1 run in the 1st inning. 55% of his starts. That's insane
  2. I am absolutely stunned that John Lackey gave up a run in the first inning
  3. [expletive] Lackey has a 3.69 ERA (nice) over his last 11 starts and has allowed 2 runs or less in 8 of those 11 starts.
  4. Hilarious that the Cardinals are 14-3 this month in games not against the Cubs, but because they got swept they are still on the outside looking in. If they had won just 1 against us, they'd be 3 games out of 1st and 0.5 out of the Wild Card. Instead they are 5 out and 1.5 out of WC and still trailing 2 teams. Basically LOL Cardinals
  5. Hahah remember when the Brewers were a ball away from winning the game and then Kris Bryant hit a clutch HR?
  6. It would be really nice to win tonight and take a crapload of pressure off the rest of the weekend. I know captain obvious
  7. I'm just slightly bitter because I know the Cubs are going to sweep these goobers and my triumphant game thread streak was lost because of that nothing blip of a loss to the damn Rays. BAH. You'll just have to start game 1 of the NLDS thread. Then we will flood the thread with so many Mad Men gifs Bryce Harper won't know what hit him.
  8. Big weekend, so lets kick it off with Jon Jay leading off! #UMFanComplainsAboutLineup
  9. Rizzo's was the 1st inning grand slam against Homer Bailey in August. Bryant's was way back in June against Colorado
  10. FYI, the Cardinals have to lose 3 times in the next 4 days as well to clinch on Sunday Who is that now? Let me jog your memory: http://mlb.mlb.com/images/1/1/6/154439116/101315_nlds_schwarber_homerun_statcast_medres_bq4qks7r.gif The other team
  11. FYI, the Cardinals have to lose 3 times in the next 4 days as well to clinch on Sunday
  12. Raise the Jolly Roger! so we are back to where we were before. Win 3 of 4 it's over. Split and it's basically over. Lose 3 of 4 and we're still in the drivers seat
  13. For those that are whining about being only 2.5 games up, the Pirates have the tying run in scoring position in the 8th
  14. I assumed we'd be going in up 3.5 at least. Going in up 2.5, we really need to take 3 of 4. A split is OK but anything worse and I'll be worried. The Brewers are not good, im ready to sweep them away. We don't really need to take 3 of 4. We split and we are 2.5 up with 7 to play (3 up in loss column). At that point we can go 3-4 and the Brewers would have to go 5-1 to tie us.
  15. And if the Cubs lose all of their remaining games that would be huge too. The point is, the Cubs haven't lost 3 of 4 to the Brewers. Their playoff odds will drop all the way to 97% if these scores hold.
  16. Yeah like I said it's nervous. The horsefeathers thing is Lester will start the game after that series while the Brewers are off. So could easily make us tied with 6 to go. At that point our schedules are identical, 3 at home against the Reds and 3 on the road in St Louis. If we lose 3 of 4 and if we can't win on Monday against the Cardinals and if we can't outplay the Brewers over a 6 game schedule that is identical then whatever we clearly we're not as good as we thought. But that's a crapload of Ifs Holy hell, what is wrong with you. Talking people off the ledge. What's wrong with you?
  17. Ian Happ has struck out in 58% of his ABs over his last 33
  18. lose 3 of 4 and its a .5 lead with a week to go...i get the .5 lead but thats as thin as it gets Yeah like I said it's nervous. The shitty thing is Lester will start the game after that series while the Brewers are off. But that's a crapload of Ifs
  19. Why were we so wrong about the Brewers? Did we underestimate their pitching? Are they the luckiest team ever? They faded for a bit but now they are playing their best baseball during the stretch run winning 10 of 12. I am not too worried about the division but it's annoying that a superior team like the Cubs can't shake them.
