This seems like one of those seasons where the Bears do the opposite of what you think (except win mind you, that would be insane). Everyone thought they'd get beaten decisively against Atlanta, they almost won. Everyone expected a competitive game vs. TB and some even predicted win and they were absolutely embarrassed. Now everyone is expecting a blowout. I'm going Steelers 24 Bears 20

Bryant hasn't had a game day off since 8/23, and lefties fare much better against Archer so that mitigates the impact. there we go, thats the stuff. thanks tt

One off day against the bum ass Rays is hardly being "aggressive with resting people." And way to slag on Montgomery like he's Lackey or something. Please don't make me defend Lackey in a post.

Not my favorite time for Joe to pull a day off after day off with our best player. Especially with our 6th starter going. We are in a good position but stretch run where we can't afford to be aggressive with resting people.

Cubs get swept by TB and Cincinnati, only win 1 of 4 against the Cardinals, but manage 3 of 4 against the Brewers, while the Brewers sweep Pittsburgh and take 2 of 3 from Cincinnati and the Cardinals and the best the Brewers can do is tie in that scenario. I wish someone could calculate our probability to win the division for each result of the Brewers series. Has to be like 99.5% if we take 3 of 4, 93% if we split, 70% if we take 1 of 4 and 55% if we get swept.

I know jersey normally starts this, but I'm anxious to have another thread to talk about how sucky the Bears are. I'm seeing Steelers -7.5 on the road which seems a tad high to me even considering the Bears suckiness

You're such an angry, angry person. Well that's definitely comforting. I'm just irrationally terrified (shocking, right?) of the game series we have there coming up. Why? The only way that Series means anything is if the Brewers sweep all 4 games. If they take 3 of 4 the Cubs are still overwhelmingly in the drivers seat (2 games up with 9 other games to play). If the Cubs split the series the division race is effectively over. The chances of the Brewers winning all 4 games is very much unlikely. Heck even if they win all 4 the Cubs have a better than 50% chance of winning the division I would guess

How many more games do the Pirates have against the Brewers/Cardinals? It seems like every time I look at other scores the Pirates are getting their brains beat in by one of those teams. Way to mail it in (not that we didn't take advantage too)

I just thought calling the Mets "the real reason Lane Pryce killed himself" (uh, several years old spoiler alert after the fact, I guess) was a sick burn, bro when I was coming up with the game thread for game #2 against them. Then when I was starting the next one I mistakenly thought the Mets came up a LOT on Mad Men, but my search for those gifs reminded me, "oh yeah; there's a metric horsefeathers TON of MM gifs out there." mojo started his first thread with "Meet the Mets" in the subject and for the 2nd game thread mentioned Lane which made me realize there is an awesome "Meet the Mets" Mad Men related gif and it kind of took off from there. Mojo gets the credit though for the Mad Men thing and this awesome winning streak.

no but I have a couple that are so inappropriate I imagine there are only 1 or 2 specific sets of circumstances that would justify using them. I have one that is incredibly inappropriate and offensive that I keep wanting to post because I'm a terrible human being, but my better judgment has won out. Does it involve Bobby 4 asking an innocent question at Don's apartment after being robbed?

Stolen from reddit: For the 9-4 scenario, the only way this can occur is if the Brewers sweep the Cubs and the Cubs win the other 9 games. I think if we go 5-8 or better we are looking pretty damn good.
