  1. Like honestly can you see any of the next 5 Nationals hitters hitting a routine grounder or a can of corn pop fly at this point? It could happen but damn it's hard to see at this point
  2. I just really have no idea how we are going to get these 3 outs. It seems like none of the Nationals are getting cheap outs at all. No bad contact. No first pitch swinging etc. It's gonna take a miracle
  3. Turners AB is going to make the difference here. If he gets on he is basically on 2nd already and Werth can bunt him to 3rd for Harper (yes Dusty would totally bunt there)
  4. I hate to say this but you can't have Wade pitch the 9th. Heart of the Nats order and he doesn't look good at all. Btw I don't know who should actually pitch the 9th. Wilson will walk people and Lackey sucks in 1 inning appearances. joe really backed himself into a corner here. He needs the hand of God to save him from a torching here.
  5. You can't horsefeathering walk this guy
  6. Whoever pitches the 9th will have the heart of the horsefeathering order with (hopefully) at least a 1 run lead
  7. To say we needed that would be an understatement
  8. 9 walks for Cubs pitchers today...8 from the pen
  9. This is awful. This is so awful. This is so so awful
  10. Why are we allergic to strike throwing? This is awful
  11. Yeah it will probably be like Strasburg
  12. He's do it, allow 3 baserunners and pick all 3 off If he intentionally walks them all on base and picks them off he won't even have to throw a pitch!
  13. How many base runners do the Cubs allow this inning? I'm saying 2
  14. Yeah my heart rate has not gone down yet
  15. I'm sure he's willing but I really don't think I'd trust him after throwing 55 pitches yesterday on 3 days rest.
  16. Roark Doolitle Oliver Perez are 3 I can think of
  17. There is absolutely no middle ground here. Either I will be about as happy as I've ever been following a sporting event (championship clinchers aside and NLCS game 6) and if they lose I'll be about as broken as I've ever been about a loss
  18. There is no way Davis can go 7 outs unless he's super efficient. He's given up home runs in 100% of these situations this year* *might not be true
  19. This is one of the most intense games of my life in any sport. Obviously game 7 was more but that's it
