  1. Actual footage of Robel's .850 OPS sending Addi down to AAA His OPS is falling harder than that So let me get this straight. You are making hay out of Robel's mini-slump in the hopes that the Cubs bring back Addi? I also lulz'd at the idea of keeping that trainwreck in the majors solely because he has SSS results against a single starting pitcher whom we happen to be facing tonight. You're digging really, really deep to find a reason to hold on to a wife abuser who can't be bothered to learn the signs while he's riding the pine.

  3. 1) Garcia has less than 60 PA, those numbers are not meaningful 2) Wainwright gets destroyed by LH and has a below average K rate against them, that matters too 3) Garcia has less than 60 PA, those numbers are not meaningful 4) Even if they were meaningful, Garcia's SSS pitch values are only problematic against sliders and changeups, which combine to make up 1.4% of Wainwright's arsenal this year(in practice these are almost certainly crappy curveballs) 1) I had not broken it down like that obviously. Didn't even know how to. But I think it's fair to add in the time he spent at AAA where everyone including Theo admitted he has a lot of work to do against breaking and offspeed pitches and determine that those issues are manifesting themselves at the MLB level, wouldnt it? Admittedly very good points ...did I go too far again?
  4. Is Nashville on the other side of the International Date Line? We put the wrong date until it doesn't work anymore.

  7. With Javy's high K rate a curiously low LA on fastballs, combined with high whiff and punish rates on breaking and off speed...I think he's going into most every swing looking to barrel a FB, and if its slower than that, he tries to slow his swing by upper cutting. Its easy to say (for anyone) that he could just increase his LA and get more HRs...but for Javy especially, I think its more of a feature of his approach than something you can tinker away. That he's had remarkably similar (and excellent) results for two years running, even with his insanely high K and insanely low BB rates, I don't want him to change a thing. The league can't figure him out, so let him continue to rake.
  8. Not only does Maddon want the Cubs to lose, but he's going to torpedo my Hendricks W and my Cishek Hold, isn't he?
  9. That looks like one of those silly poweraid commercials with the doctored video footage. I swear the ball speeds up as it approaches 2B.
  10. Regular Show went out in a blaze of glory recently and claimed he was logging off forever Jeez. Are you baiting him to try and come back? Because that's a low blow.
  11. That is an extreme allegation and one I would like to have some evidence behind before I label someone a wife beater. I can not doubt see a young player like Russell holding his money over his SO, or treating to leave her if he didn't get his way along with many of the other things that fall on the other side of MLB's DV policy. I'm not condoning those things or denying he didn't physically abuse here I personally need more to go there. Victim/accuser testimony is evidence. If she didn't record the hit, you must acquit!
  12. Because they make the world a worse place and I am against the world being worse. I couldnt imagine going through life worrying about other people's political opinions. There has to be thousands of things I'd rather spend my time being mad about. I don't consider sending money to the Trump campaign a run-of-the-mill "political opinion." There are levels to this hate-your-preferred-sportsball-team's-players game.
  13. What have I said to defend Russell's off the field actions? Just because I said I have no idea if Russell did all the things he was accused isn't defending him. He could have done ever more, exactly what was claimed or never stooped to physical abuse. We have no idea, only two people really know that really happened. MLB suspended him and the Cubs tendered him a contact after his ex wife gave her blessing on giving him a second chance. Yet fans don't want to move on like the victim and refuse judge his on the field numbers the same as another players. Russell has the second highest OPS behind Rizzo's .866 in losses at .844 and has a .798 OPS in 38 starts yet people think he was costing us games because they can't see past the off the field stuff. I bet you believe OJ was not guilty too. ...but OJ ran for over an average of 70 yards in games his team lost! That's the highest level ever for RBs with over 1000 rushing attempts who wrote a book detailing how they would have killed their wife!
  14. I think he's the Trump alarm bells guy personally (or whatever it was that guy said about Trump's bat [expletive] actions) Bring back Boris!!! (see sig)
  15. So your point is that Russell is better than Javy, Bote and Garcia? He's 100% better than 2 of them and a better SS than Javy
  16. If you took 6 games out of Taylor Davis's season, he's me!
  17. Yeah, definitely. I'm assuming exactly that.
  18. Well, you can't really expect a guy to learn all those pesky signs in just five years, after all. To be honest, I never got the impression that Addison Russell was smart. Even before the abuse allegations came out, something just seemed off about his interviews. He used a lot of cliches (some of used incorrectly like the bartender in Boondock Saints), often times if a question involved any sort of critical thinking his answer would basically have nothing to do with the question. At the time I gave him the benefit of doubt and assumed he was just not a great public speaker, but based on what we know about him now I think he's just a moron. It doesn't surprise me at all that he would not know or at least be able to identify signs. I definitely got that vibe too. I think that is part of the reason that the rest of the team, management most especially, is bending over backwards to enable the guy. He was the lovable clubhouse idiot until he abused his wife. He is some kind of project that they can fix if only they can give him the right guidance.
  19. I'm going to give a cool, well-liked, slider-dependant pitcher like Strop the benefit of the doubt and say that the low-friction juiced ball is especially effecting him...but apart from that he sure looks donezo.
  20. When did that guy lose his Austrailian accent...and excitement....and humor?
  21. No one from either team has faced the opposing pitcher before in their major league careers. This is pretty much the most boring match up that I can imagine. Why is Mills getting multiple starts for this team? Is his first name really Alec, or did the Cubs PR person just mishear Alex? Why is Addi still on this team? How can the Cubs win 7 of 9 out of the break and I still feel blah about them? Can we get a petition going to just change the team name to the Chicago RizBaezs? At least that Italian League guy is raking. Anyhow, I have a secret to tell you about the Cubs and Theo's trade target efforts: Theo isn't going to do anything of note or significance apart from futilely threaten the team, and Maddon will continue to make horrible line ups Go RizBaezs!
