  1. Possible fake rally looks astoudingly like previous fake rallies...
  2. I'm just more embarrassed about my reaction to it. I threw my remote against the wall and shattered it and kicked a box fan and dented it. :dontknow: After game 7, I don't think I left my room, apart from bathroom trips, for about 60 hours.
  3. [alt] 242 ≤ is [alt]243 Neat trick! ...although he did totally underline a greater than at the start of the thread.
  4. I was there too and I can't believe you even have to consider whether you're remembering correctly since it's to this day the most memorable regular-season game of the current era. (Matusz gave up a 2-run homer in each of the first 3 innings.) [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo]I mean, we won the game, but damn was that a stupid horsefeathering call from Maddon.
  5. No, but Mr. Sinister is their head of player development.
  6. It's a common freaking expression you weirdo. Oooooh, first time I've ever come across it
  7. Should we refer to him as "he who should be fired into the sun" from now on?
  8. Well, if the Cubs play well today, we will definitively know if the home jersey contains the winning magic.
  9. Heh, I kind of agree with you, but there are also triple play considerations...which depending on your outlook, are a reason against or for the IFR. I've discussed this with my friends for 4 minutes and it's become my number one demand for baseball rules. Also a triple play would be almost impossible. Hmm, now that I think about it, with bases loaded no outs, if the guy on 2nd runs and gets next to 3rd, and everyone else stays put, you are spreading out your risk as well as you can and limit yourself to JUST a double play. I might be on team repeal-IFR for the sole reason its another reason to keep Addi off the team. No way he plays those situations correctly, either on the basepaths or in the field.
  10. Murton would’ve been a really good player had he been around a smarter organization and/or was coming up now in the launch angle/juiced ball era. He was basically KB like at the plate from 05-07. It’s also hilarious we got him because Hendry just spoke up on the conference call finalizing the Nomar trade and said we’d take him at the 11th hour when there was confusion which of the teams he was going too and they didn’t have time to sort it through. I'd forgotten about Murton (along with pretty much everyone else from 2005-2014) so I looked up his stats. Am I the only one who didn't know he spent a season at Iowa when he came back from Japan? I was irrationally all about Murton, so I was well aware of it. Another did you know: Murton once held the Japanese-league record for most hits in a season, breaking Ichiro's mark, which has since been surpassed.
  11. Can you explain how the infield fly rule works to everyone here, too? the infield fly rule is idiotic and should be abolished. why do you get punished for grounding into a double play but you are protecting from hitting a weak pop-up? Stupid rule. Heh, I kind of agree with you, but there are also triple play considerations...which depending on your outlook, are a reason against or for the IFR.
  12. Holy horsefeathers that is dumb.
  13. As a Packer fan, I have to say that Aaron is 100% correct here. And he's taking the side of the players as opposed to management, so props to him. I have no idea if LaFleur is actually a good coach or not, or if he deserves public ribbing like this, but the whole "team unity" narrative is so unimportant to actually winning games. I'm always stunned at how much people care about this stuff.
  14. Can you explain how the infield fly rule works to everyone here, too?
  15. I was about to go to BR and check out career OPS for the line up in Cincy, but then I thought better of it. FYI.
  16. Why? It won't effect his Busch OPS. Only thing that matters.
  17. Right last year Boston won when 35 year old Steve Pearce won World Series MVP after getting traded there in season.
  18. Edith, give this a watch, because its amazing, and because it is exactly what you are doing over and over here: [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo]
