  1. So Jon Rahm was well on his way to winning the Memorial, with a record setting lead after 3 days, and then tested positive for Covid twice and had to withdraw after his round today. As an aside, this also topedoed my draftkings lineup that was in the top 100. Sad panda.
  2. Durag is not a derogatory term. But when you comment that past white players would never have worn one, what is it you are trying to say? Didn't he say it was the same one that Seaver did wear? The guy in the Survivor video got upset over the use of "durag" though. Again I don't live in the US and there doesn't seem to be the same connotation here in Canada so I wasn't understanding the reaction.
  3. I wish I had checked this thread out before commenting in the General Baseball Chit-Chat. I basically just did an amalogmated impression of everyone here.
  4. Long story short: Brenly was using “durag” as a derogatory comment since wearing a durag is conceived by unintelligent racist white people as something a poor black person wears. Jamal from Survivor breaks it down better than I could. Watch the video I posted. Gotcha'. Was completely unaware that there was a negative connotation with "durag". I live in Canada and have heard people - white, black, asian, indian - use "durag" pretty frequently - guys wear them for weekend softball, football etc. - not most, but it's certainly not uncommon. I shall make note for when the border re-opens. Durag is not a derogatory term. But when you comment that past white players would never have worn one, what is it you are trying to say? What's the point? If you've been obviously and weirdly critical of Hispanic players for your entire announcing (and prob coaching) career, the implication is pretty obvious: it was better when we didn't have ethnic players around with their flamboyant eye sore clothing and accessories. I'm stumped why we shouldn't be "sensitive" to horseshit like that. It isn't even subtile enough to be a dog whistle, ffs.
  5. If we were talking about Len or someone making this statement (who would never in a thousand years say that) this thread would be worth discussing. But we are talking about Bob horsefeathering Brenley, which is precisely Aramis's point. He's been doing this for decades, and it's ridiculous it's taken this long for any repercussions. Just IMAGINE taking Brenley's side over Aramis for anything, let alone this. Wtf is going on!?
  6. Thanks for the heads up. Not much I can do about it unless I turn off google ads, though. Hahaha!! Just a heads up, the ads are catered to your browsing history and the interests Google has deemed you have etc. Most of my ads are for cheap hipster golf balls, televisions and, this is weird, penis reduction surgery.
  7. "Salty" would be more accurate than "Brooksy"
  8. As a pink faced guy that is incapable of growing a full beard, I'll offer that he might not have a choice but to look like an Anthrax cosplayer.
  9. LOL @ the style in which Tringale torpedoed all of my good draftkings lineups.
  10. Poop. The Rich Hill curve was more than enough, but that clinches it. I have a new fav prospect.
  11. Well, that would explain why the guy doesn't want to press charges. But it doesn't matter what he said or how the guy who got KO'd feels about it. The Pads fan needs to be charged with assult. Well I'm no lawyer but somebody choosing not to press charges is a thing that happens all the time Jesus. I'm no lawyer either, but I'm well aware of the fact that someone can go to jail for assult even if the victim isn't pressing charges. If there is evidence and the prosecutor wants to charge the guy, then he gets charged.
  12. Because he doesn't want it to get out what he said? Well, that would explain why the guy doesn't want to press charges. But it doesn't matter what he said or how the guy who got KO'd feels about it. The Pads fan needs to be charged with assult.
  13. Just read the guy decided not to press charges. ...why does that matter at all?
  14. But just imagine if you cashed a Superfecta!

  16. That's a shame. He used to be aces.
  17. Can't vote. I haven't watched a game that used the new rules yet.
  18. I believe the call was that the catcher was blocking the plate, and it made all runners safe?
  19. Doesn't he mean "executed?".
  20. ...how? The alternative to a hit thought a normal shift is an out into a heavy shift. In both cases, the HR-BB-K totals remain the same. Incentives. More and more guys have responded to the shift with trying to hit OVER the shift. That's more uppercut swings, with more Ks, BBs, and dongs. Raise the value of a single, and you see more changed approaches. But unlike hitting it the other way, this is a change that guys have shown more ability to actually implement. I mean, that makes sense, but I'm not convinced that the uppercut change versus opposite field change is based on an ABILITY to impliment as opposed to a WILLINGNESS to impliment. And what were you hinting at with the "raise the value of a single" comment. I wasn't sure what you were referring to. EDIT: I'd also argue that shifting is a responce to the launch angle revolution, and not the cause of it.
