  1. 9/10 on the Derwood scale I mean, someone could have just linked to the story they were talking about I guess https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=Rockies+Slur
  2. If one were so inclined to engage, which would be dumb, we're at least adding Puerto Ricos one gold to the US's count. But also it would be really dumb to get into said possing match. But just saying. Why stop there? Why not add Canada?
  3. Played a scramble tourney yesterday. I shot pretty well, but had to play in this: At least I didn't have to worry about getting sun burned.
  4. https://twitter.com/barry/status/1424389685195968514
  5. It was a delight to watch the Cubs get stomped by one of the worst teams in baseball and not even get the slightest amount upset.
  6. Yeah, I watched a bunch of wrestling online, but the officiating and announcing was so bad that I regretted tuning in. They got these two Brits who had NO CLUE what was going on, and they had to fake it for about three hours of footage. I felt bad for them, after a while.
  7. Relevant: Brandon McCarthy remains the best. Why isn't he hired by someone to produce some content?
  8. It's fine by me for anyone to feel this way, but the way I look at it, the Cubs won the WS and I'm mostly cool with whatever so long as A) I like the players I'm rooting for and B) that's it. Of course, winning makes me like players, but Javy had a lifetime pass no matter how many Ls the Cubs racked up, or swinging Ks he committed. I was pissed when we traded Yu, but now I'm just unteathered.
  9. Two ML'ers for one 19 year old isn't a very common swap you aren't getting quality and quantity for 2 months of javy baez everyone suddenly loves our players again I cannot believe anyone here does not love Javy, even if they say he swings and misses or whatever the hell. He is the coolest baseballer alive, and we all know it.
  10. At least Javy went out taunting Garrett...but really, he did so many awesome things, it was inevitable he was going to exit while having recently been a badass. Very pleased with my choice to not have watched a single Cub game on tv this year. Extremely displeased that I already bought tickets for next week's games in Denver.
  11. It isn't annoying me nearly as much as I would have assumed it would have two months ago, let alone two years ago. Not sure what a scuttle is, but this was the moment where Rizzo became the heart of the Cubs. Not like this is news to anyone here.
  12. Are we over 85% yet?
  13. So the Mrs and I were watching the synchronized board diving, and one of the Brits left his toes slightly off the edge of the board, and the announcer lady seemed nearly angry about it. It sounded like my Mom bitching about her neighbors, and we absolutely loved it. We were doing impressions of it, and then the when the Chinese went next, she was still stuck on the toes. "Notice how they kept their TOES on the board!?". Never laughed that hard at sports announcing in my life.
  14. As long as everyone is here to complain, the footage needs less swimming prelims, a LOT less beach volleyball, and absolutely no horsefeathering dressage. My personal request would be for all gold medal combat sport events be aired, but I know that's just me and I'll never get anything close to that.
  15. The US men’s basketball team sucks balls They should consider using NBA players like they did in the 90s. Waiting for the punchline.
  16. Well you can't have it both ways. If he's not really a top 3 pitcher, which, fine, that means his numbers aren't really dropping off, right? He's just settling back to what you thought he was/is, which is still valuable? Maybe we don't get a Preciado, but maybe a Darvish in the rotation means less time the offense spends watching some garbage pitcher get knocked around and then have to chase leads, or a bullpen that isn't exhausted by July. But, whatever, all in the past at this point. Can you guys please stop responding to this guy so I don't have to see the non-sense he's posting?
  17. Man, Japan rocks.
  18. Is there any semi-realistic low-price/short-duration extension for Rizzo that wouldn't make you (and I) blanch? What are the numbers?
  19. I don't know if there has ever been a fight in UFC history (apart from maybe Usman-Covington) where I've wanted the heel to lose more than Poirier-MacGregor. And then THAT happens, and then the post-fight interviews happen. I can't imagine anything better than that. The UFC script-writing crew needs a promotion. The a$$hole line was fun, but then he gets all Shakespearian and I all but lost my horsefeathers.
