  1. What? The risk of missing the 2 pt conversion (instead of trying their luck in OT) was that by missing it, the Ravens fell to 8-6, which is a tie with the Bengals (who own the tie-breaker). Was going for 2 worth that risk? Are you saying they should not have gone for it because they could have tied?
  2. Weird call. They just played their way back into a tie for first instead of giving themselves OT to stay a game up What?
  3. “Where are the Snowdens of yesteryear?”
  4. Well that's a wrap. Great for fans of decisive chess. Not so great for fans of close matches.
  5. Wow. That's a bummer. He was really well liked, and had a tough go of it growing up. When he was 11, his house was raided, and his mom and grandma were put in jail on insanely long sentences for distributing crack. He actually got his grandma's sentence communted after he won the Super Bowl. He was found dead in his house, and its being called a "medical issue." No matter the cause, it's pretty sad.
  6. I thnk a podcast replete with cynical NSBB jokes would be amazing.
  7. Games like this reenforce how much better GMs are than patzers like me. I can hang with the concepts in most openings and middle games, but the calculation and training needed for endgames like this are gross.
  8. I think a Magnus win is slightly more likely than not.
  9. WuT abOUt rUShing yARDs?
  10. I think it revolved around losing three of their first 4 games.
  11. I prefer that style as well, but I don't think that incentivizes wins as much as making the less patient player lose his mind.
  12. I'd prefer it to the Bucs, and it's not even close.
  13. Eh. I can see the argument for it, but I'm a traditionalist for stuff like this. (Give me Karpov-Kasparov with 34 draws or whatever) What tilts me more is that players like Caruana don't go for broke in sharp lines toward the end of regulation when they KNOW they are going to get stomped in shorter time controls.
  14. Portugal isn't that good tho, right? They are pretty talented. Googled their world ranking and was surprised. I thought they had fallen much further than that.
  15. That was a great example of a game that the engine evals may love the position but it was always going to be extremely difficult for a human to convert to a win against a high-level opponent. 12 more draws until the real world championship starts Yeah, that was a "Magnus position" if there ever was one. Nepo's advantage was never close to "huge."

  17. Hahaha! That's horsefeathering amazing.
