  1. All I watch is the Cubs, Lost, and any UFC bouts.
  2. OMFG!!! I'm not the only one! ....however...I'm still not working on it. I have resigned myself to an all nighter.
  3. I'm watching the updates on Yahoo, and there are two pictures: one of Glendon and one of Lopez. Lopez is my lone fantasy player on the Reds team, and he is 0-3...while the rest of the team tees off. I swear, the crappy smile Glendon has on that picture is laughing at me.
  4. I traded Lieber, but it won't go into effect until Thursday...traded him in a package with V. Wells for Pierre and Borowski...really mad it didn't go into effect after a day.
  5. I turn on the tube to watch the Cubs and I get Bush...where is Farnsworth when you need him?
  6. The whole team? And I didn't know Pavano's nickname was 8-ball. :-k Pavano must have taken the train to work. I wonder if this means the Yankees will be bringing up the rear. I wonder if Pavano was getting humped from behind...and that's what made his butt hurt...dang...I got nothing.
  7. Fuentes is CRAPPY. If I were to pick one closer that will flop this year, its him. Anyways, my team also needed speed and didn't need the SP, so I traded Wells and Lieber for Pierre and Borowski. I think it helped both teams.
  8. I only have one closer after my auto-draft in a 5x5 9 team yahoo draft. I have a lot of power hitting and some outfield depth (Sheffield, Berkman, Mags, Rowand) so I am looking to deal Vernon Wells for a closer. What kind of level closer would you expect to get from him? BJ Ryan? Turnbow? Wickman? As crappy as Fuentes?
  9. NL: Central: Cubs East: Mets West: Rockies (they all suck, so who cares?) WC: Phillies AL: East: Yanks Central: Indians West: A's WC: Angels Cubs over the Phillies Mets over the Rockies Mets over the Cubs A's over Mets in the WS
  10. If you haven't drafted yet, I'm game.
  11. So, even with the injured Prior, Wood, and Miller, we still have a "log jam" of sorts at SP. When they come back, all of the following pitchers are MLB worthy of being in a rotation, or within a year: Zambrano Prior Wood Miller Williams Rusch Guzman Marshall? Hill? So, assuming that all of them are healthy enough to be throwing when June comes around...who do you trade? Who has the most value on the market right now? Who do you think would be availible to help the team with a big bat when June comes around (you need a really stong crystal ball for that one)? I would think that Williams would have the most trade value for fiting the least on the team since Marshall and Guzman make him pretty expendable, but that is just me. Thoughts? (Apart from the standard "they won't all be healthy") This is a happy hypothetical.
  12. "The collapse of Derek Lee in the second half of last year has been well documented. If Aramis Ramirez can stay healty all year behind him, and Juan Pierre can consistently get on in front of him, we can expect Derrek Lee to avoid slumps a bit better in 2006. Just don’t expect him to come out of the gate like last year, either. Edge: Even" WHA!?! Collapse? It was also well documented that Neifi saved this team last year. I do hope that Aramis remains healty, though. HORRID article.
  13. Well done. That was a classic.
  14. The decisions as to who makes the 25 man right now aren't that huge. The the 24th and 25th man off the bench, and the last BP spot. (Hopefully Novoa is the odd man out there) For me, the tough questions are: when Wade and Wood (hopefully) come back, who gets sent down? Who gets traded? How good does Angel Guzman or Rich Hill have to look in order for them to push Rusch or Williams out of the rotation? How bad do those two have to pitch to start the year? ...on the Guzman and Hill topic...am I the only one kind of hoping that Rusch or Maddux gets hurt?
  15. Reguardless of what you thought of the man, that may be the tackiest thing that's ever been posted on this board.
  16. "I think him (Fassero) and Terry Mullholand will continue pitching...until they aren't playing baseball anymore." The spirit of Harry lives on.
  17. It was the giving away of Nolasco and the acquistion of Pierre that annoyed me about that trade, not so much the Pinto and Mitre elements. Oops, I meant Nolasco.
  18. Novoa was probably the least impressive pitcher today, and he hasn't been THAT bad. Three straight minor leaguers with ok heat and wicked, major league curves. I'm pleased. Makes giving away Pinto not so bad.
  19. I think the only reason we saw the bunt was because it IS a spring training game.
  20. My point was that you DO believe in not having to prove yourself every spring with those "strawmen". Sure, its a totally different thing than Murton vs. Grissom, but you DO believe that everyone doesn't have to prove themsleves in the Spring. I agree with most everyone's statements completely....and so does Dusty, but he takes it to an extreme.
  21. I know you are being sarcastic, but he IS the best trading GM in baseball. BTW, don't worry, were aren't trading Williamson for Graffanino. That would be stupid, even for Trader Jim.
  22. Say what you want about Borowski, but I'll be looking for him at the end of my fantasy draft...
  23. It's so much better than the cartoonish blue. I wish Zambrano had his own cartoon show.
  24. I have a problem with both. I hate the idea of tenure in baseball. If you've had a job before, you're automatically assumed to be qualified for that job now. No, I think you do kind of agree with the idea, but maybe not to the extreme that Dusty and others do. Do you really think that Pierre has to out-preform Greenberg in SP to get the starting spot? Does Lee need to look over his shoulder and worry about Dope? Should Prior be concerned that if Hill out pitches him this Spring, that his job is at stake? Easy answer: no. Hard answer: what if they go 0-50 during the cactus league? Maybe? It's all relative.
