  1. I had some money on an upset. Guess he needed a stoppage.
  2. No defensive player can anticipate a pass into quadruple coverage.
  3. What's weird to me is that Love consistantly misses open targets by overthrowing. Normally, if you're inaccurate, you throw it too far, too short, too far right/left, etc, in a random walk, but it's always too far, with him. It's really weird. It's enough to tease me that I can imagine it's something that can be fixed, but probably not. He probably won't ever be better than minimally above league average. The O-line injuries came home to roost Thursday. Pack offsense is pretty bad, and the Lions are pretty good, overall.
  4. At 1/0, yes, Hikaru is probably best. At 1/1, it's close to a toss up. I was also wrong. Hikaru hat a two point lead halfway through the 3/1 portion. Magnus brought it to level going into the final 1/1 segment. And since Hikaru had a won game to send it to extras, missed his best move, and Magnus won with an insane double rook sacrifice to force mate, I'd say it's still unclear who the better player is. It was amazing match.
  5. So I've been watching the finals of the Speed Chess Championship, which is Magnus vs. Hikaru, to no one's surprise. Magnus has been better out of the opening/middle game pretty routinely and built a two game lead, and then all of a sudden Hikaru won a few amazing attacking games, and now is handing Magnus his ass in endgames! Hikaru has a two point lead entering the bullet portion. If it wasn't for most of the games being Berlins, it would be about as entertaining of a match as possible.
  6. That strategy is all the rage these days, and when everyone is grabbing RBs early, it makes sense. As it gets more popular, it starts to make less sense. Fantasy is a leveling game.
  7. https://twitter.com/jamjks/status/1703951402328805593?t=jX6q4O93tQCIS29FZu8cmw&s=19
  8. I read that as Olave at first, and I was trying to figure out where the sarcasm was hidden.
  9. The Chubb injury is possibly worse to watch than Willis McGahee way back when, because the knee is forced sideways instead of backwards. He has to be done for the season.
  10. Deep pull!
  11. Ha, yeah, just saw my parents on the cubs site video for PSA's first RBI.
  12. My parents are at the game, and they claim they are sitting in front of PCA's parents.
  13. True-ish, the Packers get a 2nd rounder instead of a 1st.
  14. That footage is gnarly/amazing.
  15. There are some fans that just always think their players are going to be awesome, and I'm sure Packer fans have more of them after the last 25 years...but I don't think expectations are very high for Love. He's clearly just a guy. He actually played a fair amount better than I expected him to play for his first game as "the guy" (partly because a WR corps feating Doubbs has to be the worst in the NFL) but I think it had more to do with the Bears pass rush being non-existant.
  16. The Bears Oline was so poor that I think its nearly impossible to make any worthwhile judgements about the future of anyone involved. They were really bad. Possibly even drugged before the game started. I still think Fields is basically Vick with no talent surrounding him.
  17. Weirdly, I don't think that's even an exaggeration.
