  1. I don't think I've mentioned it yet this year, but this year's Cubs are so much more fun to watch.
  2. I think that once you correct some of the grammar problems you have a pretty good paper. I won't say it is perfect, but it is easily a mid B paper at most colleges, and possibly a low A at others. I've become rather lazy when it comes to papers that mean nothing in the grand scheme of things, so take anything I say with a grain of salt. Once you correct the grammar, however, I would turn this in without a second thought. I graduated with a 3.6 and turned in a many of papers at the same quality if they didn't mean a whole lot to me or were not in my major.
  3. Z and Willis, now there are two guys that I like to watch play. I don't always agree with Z's antics, but at the same time he really brings back the intensity to baseball almost every day. Favorite Z memory: Gotta go with the Bonds linedrive. That was just great baseball. It was about time that somebody stood up to him. Speaking of which, anybody have the clip of that play, and also the one where, I think, Bonds took a step towards the mound and Prior took a step towards homeplate, as if they were going at eachother?
  4. NO!!! Why must he come here?!?! I do remember his homerun from 2004 though. That was a great moment. It was like his first homer in a year and a half or something.
  5. If we get Tejada somehow I will be jumping in the streets, running around in my boxers, and screaming my lungs out. In other words, make it happen, Hendry!
  6. From Roto: Even though the Cubs failed to sign Rafael Furcal, Todd Walker still might not be in their plans for 2006. Speaking yesterday, GM Jim Hendry made it sounds as if Jerry Hairston Jr. is ahead of Walker on the depth chart. "Hairston played well in the second half last season," Hendry said. "If we start tomorrow with [Ronny Cedeno, Neifi Perez and Hairston] and do a good job of shoring up the outfield, I'd be OK with that." The Indians are among the teams that could be interested in acquiring Walker. Dec. 5 - 12:39 pm et HAIRSTON!?!?! Yay! How long until 2007?
  7. Wow, I saw this thread and I immediately thought Otis Nixon. Don't know why. At least it makes me happy to know we aren't signing Otis.
  8. Agreed. And this is why people get discouraged over mediocre signings. Those signings are hindering us from following these feasible offensive numbers. If you had a team of Furcal Pierre (sub in who you wish for CF, this is just an example) Giles Lee Ramirez Walker Murton Barrett this could follow diffusion's mold. And win a division. I officially love this line-up. Give it to me. Please.
  9. If possible, I can't imagine a better lineup than: SS Furcal LF Murton 1B DLEE RF: Dunn 3B: ARam 2B: Walker C: Barrett CF: Patterson Pitcher Seriously, adding the D from Patterson in CF, I think this is a great line-up. Not that I'm against Cedeno, I could replace Walker with him. But still, that's one heckuva lineup. And it could happen. COULD! Probably won't. :(
  10. At this point I wish we'd have gotten Grudz back even if it was for more money. If we trade Walker I might just .... drink some beer.
  11. I honestly see him as a Cardinal next year. I think Jocketty has accepted the benefits of statistical analysis in a way that we could only dream of as Cubs fans. You have any idea how depressed you just made me with this post?
  12. I poo on the Sox. I poo on all three teams left. It's weird, but after seeing some of the umping in the last few games I almost find myself cheering for the Cards since they seem to be on the worst of it from the last three teams involved (with the Angels obviously being the ones that the umps hated the most.).
  13. Didn't say it was reasonable. Just said I want him....really badly.
  14. Come to think of it, maybe this should go in the minor league section...was just excited after reading several things about him.
  15. I'm not even going to take the time to look at specific stats, but could we please trade for Brandon Wood (ss) please?
  16. Angels all the way. BTW, I wish we had Matsui.
  17. Agreed. This is the best place I've found to post on numerous subjects, not just the Cubs. Great job, guys!
  18. I had some problems this year. I love to see the Yankees lose, but it's even better if they lose in the playoffs. So while I didn't want them to make the playoffs, I'm sort of glad they did. Now I get to see them choke again.
  19. I just wish they would clarify to the voters if it were most valuable player that got into the playoffs or the guy that had the best season overall....until then I find it hard to put a lot of emphasis on the MVP.
  20. Here's to MVLEE! For the Cubs at least. He was practically the only exciting thing to watch this year.
  21. I really wanted to vote for Z, but Sammy will always be thought of in a good light when it comes to my way of thinking. Really sad how things had to end up with him. So even now, I'll vote for Sammy.
  22. Anybody else get a kick out of: I was laughing out loud on that quote.
