    This is my first lol of the Cubs season. The distress of a Cubs fan not able to watch a game when they think they are going to is very high. I think it will come on in a sec, oleMissCub...no worries.

    Hmmm..... sounds like your wife and mine are related. :wink: Haha. She's actually pretty cool about it. She doesn't care much for baseball, but she lets me enjoy it and actually lets me turn on the game if we're driving somewhere. God, but do I love that woman. There are women that won't let you turn on the game when you love the team? Kill me before I get married. That's going to be big fight. It becomes "Who do you love more, them or me" sometimes-the trick is to not get it to that point. Let up sometimes, make compromises to not have to watch every game live (with a DVR that's much easier), and it makes it much easier to watch plenty of games :D Why do I have a feeling this is going to come up with my current girlfriend when we get engaged and have to talk to the preacher? This is going to be bad.

    WGN has 76 Cubs games this year. Thanks, not as bad as I thought.

    So sad that I'll only be catching WGN and ESPN games this year due to being stuck with cable and no EI. This has probably been covered in another thread, but how many games are WGN covering this year?

    They did it a couple years ago with the Yanks/whoevertheyplayedthatday. Devil Rays. I actually woke up at like 3 AM to watch it. I was starved for baseball at that point.

    Per Rotoworld: FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal says Greg Maddux will get a one-year, $10 million contract with a $6 million player option for 2008 from the Padres. The option contains escalators that can increase the value to a maximum of $10 million if Maddux pitches 200 innings next season. With Maddux joining the Padres, it's highly unlikely that San Diego will be among the top bidders for Jason Schmidt. There's now added incentive for the Dodgers to pursue Schmidt. Didn't see this anywhere.

    This makes me extremely happy! I just hope he is able to be the dominating relief pitcher we saw a year and a half ago.
