  1. You would think that the Bears would get lucky and hire one right person in an area of leadership after all of these years
  2. See how easy this is, Bears? But believe it or not, the Bears hired the wrong guy to lead their project.
  3. Taking Taylor in the 4th round was crazy, but he’s supposed to be a much better punter than this
  4. 4/16 through 2027
  5. The occasional crazy sidearm throw
  6. Caleb is a smart dude. If he struggles throwing the ball deep, don’t even bother taking the shots lol.
  7. Not that it wouldn’t be the right move to bench Caleb, but Ben Johnson didn’t choose the Bears over every other team only to move to Bagent early on unless Ben was incredibly impressed by Tyson in the preseason
  8. I hope Caleb does become a great QB, but if Caleb continues to struggle and makes the same mistakes again and again, I still fear that he will be on an extra long leash because your coach and GM just started long-term contracts
  9. It was one of many
  10. A few weeks ago Dave Wannestedt said he was at a Bears practice right after they re-signed Bagent and was talking to Poles. Dave said, “It looks like you have a solid backup QB now.” Poles said, “ We have that and more.”
  11. Then that’s not a successful NFL QB
  12. His teammates are going to turn on him. You just can’t be that bad in the NFL. It’s the same thing over and over: can’t hit the deep ball, inaccuracy, holding it too long, not throwing it away, not seeing the open receiver. Can he make plays? Sure, but career backups can make plays.
  13. I’d put him up there with Kyle Shanahan, but yes very highly regarded. But I don’t care how good a coordinator and coach Ben is, you just can’t win with the type of performance Caleb showed today. He was really bad and did not show improvement.
  14. He was coming off a Pro-Bowl season. Now if we just had the Eagles’ line.
  15. The Bears have much bigger issues. I am genuinely scared that Caleb isn’t the guy. I understand that call if the game looked to be a shootout.
  16. Nobody said he was a great head coach. He’s a great play caller, but it’s going to be a learning process as he does things he’s never been exposed to in the moment. Let’s not forget that the Bears turned the ball over on downs on the Minnesota 24 in the 2nd quarter.
  17. 3 TD drives in the 4th quarter. And he did it on the road in primetime. Yes the Bears were down key starters on defense, but Dennis Allen is a great defensive coordinator and McCarthy and O’Connell got the last laugh. lol
  18. Listening to O’Connell talk in his presser about how he told McCarthy at halftime that he would win the game for them is the complete opposite of what Caleb’s teammates must feel about him. I think Caleb has leadership intangibles, but he just doesn’t have the consistent it factor to be a good NFL QB.
  19. It was great because he did something in the 4th quarter that’s never been done by a QB in his first game
  20. 50 yards isn’t medium range, but NFL kickers make 50 yarders 75% of the time (Santos is around 65%). The other thing about that kick is that Santos barely got the ball there. He’s only accurate because he rarely attempts long FGs.
  21. Peyton and Eli were basically screaming for this to happen well before Santos lined up. Everybody knew it but our coaching staff.
  22. No QB in NFL history has led their team to 3 TD drives in the 4th quarter of their first game
  23. They weren’t awful until the 4th quarter and McCarthy made a bunch of good throws to bury the Bears. You can’t expect much more from a rookie on the road in primetime.
