  1. Has Walt Joketty said anything about it since he was there?
  2. So Canning could still get it?
  3. The Dayton paper makes Castillo look worse than he was by mentioning that he threw at three people, four if you include the dugout. Now pjstar agrees. The guy needs to be at the least suspended for the season and kicked off the team.
  4. The Peoria version doesn't mention that Castillo wizzed a pitch by a third guy's head. Did that happen or not?
  5. So he hit 4 people in total. I think he hit two actually. One in the helmet that took that player out for the game, another, and wizzed another by a guy's head which started the big brawl.
  6. Did the umps warn anyone? Castillo hit a guy in the helmet, hit another guy, and then hit a third. Were there warnings? Castillo should have been thrown out after hitting the second guy.
  7. If the Bears don't want to pay him number one receiver money, they shouldn't have said in the offseason that he was their number one. With that said, being a number one Bears receiver isn't worth much!
  8. I wouldn't have spent that kind of money of Berrian either. He wasn't even close to being worth it. Are there any good WR free agents out there next year?
  9. Hester can't afford to lose 15k every day for missing practice can he? Plus if he is going to be a decent WR, he has got to be at practice to learn the plays and develop.
  10. Like not winning a playoff game in 12 years. Do we rate owners by how much money they make, or by how successful their teams are? 1 usually follows 2, so I guess you can say the Bears ownership isn't capitalizing if they are only middle of the pack in profit. But they Bears have been inconsistent lately which doesn't help.
  11. I remember that first game last year vs the Chargers - what a defense. With Dusty, Brown, and Harris hopefully back healthy this defense could be really good. I hope Forte can chip block and catch a little swing pass, cause whoever is QB is going to be under a lot of pressure. I want to see more from Olsen this year. I hope he gained some strength, especially in his legs.
  12. I don't think that was a critique of the play on the field. As they said, the Bears were in the SB 2 years ago. The rankings the way I see them, are reflections on how each team is run "as a business" and in that aspect, the Bears fare poorly. Right, but are there any stats?
  13. There is nothing substantive in that critique. One owner "suspects"... Are there figures for how much profit a team makes? I don't think it is the ownerships fault that the Bears don't have a QB.
  14. Dan Bernstein says that they Bears needed to win in 2006 because their window for winning was pretty small. But when I look at the defense, almost all of them are signed for a number of years. If the offense can improve, this defense should be good for a while. We need a new thread because the offseason is no more!
  15. While Urlacher technically deserves more money, he would have gotten more if the hadn't had his rookie contract renegotiated. He is the only defensive player the Bears have had who they did this too. If he hadn't done this, his contract would be bigger now. But Urlacher wanted it both ways. It was pretty ridiculous for him to ask for a new contract coming off one of his worst years and sustaining injuries that could plague the rest of his career. I just hope the Bears' doctors checked him out well before doing this.
  16. I remember Lou saying that they can't keep this many pitchers for long. I really don't care to see DuBois up.
  17. Terrible offense, above average defense, above average special teams equals 8-8 record in my mind. Miss the playoffs by a game.
  18. Maybe he wants to win. Too late now. Contrary to popular belief, the Bears are not as bad as some think. The Bears still have their Super Bowl caliber defense intact. If the Offense is even remotely average, the Bears should and could challenge for best in the NFC. Yeah, I said it..... In Jerry Angelo's best voice on B/B, "NO." The offense won't be remotely average. Average line, bad QB, bad RB, bad receivers=bad offense.
  19. White Sox dog? Awful throw? Quentin should have been able to gun down Tejada at that distance. It's not like it was hit deep in the alley or at the warning track. He was able to set up for the throw even. It was average distance. Even a good outfielder throws a player out from there lie what, 5-10% of the time? Quentin is no dog. Kenny Williams got him for practically nothing. He is the best player on a first place team.
  20. Johnny Bench, Hank Aaron, Joe Morgan. Ron Santo had to be escorted away. Aaron is there.
  21. How do you say low 100s, as in 100-105? I can't think of it.
