  1. If Woosdon is still around for the Bears next pick, they better get him. What was so bad about his combine? I didn't see his numbers.
  2. He should have gotten Woodson!
  3. How did the Bears pass up the QB Woodson!
  4. Regardless, he's fast now. Some of the bursts he put on this year were astonishing. But when Mark Anderson runs around the edge and you go through his hole, you can look pretty fast.
  5. I have no idea if he was, I just thought he was faster than that. Didn't he get injured at the end of his last season though?
  6. Manning was abit over 4.3 I think. Hester was at 4.45 (which was disappointing). Forte has good speed for a RB (4.46), not great speed. But he also has size. the thing I like about both Hester and Forte is their abilities to cut back at what seems like top speed. edit: for reference on the importance of the 40 yrd in regards to RB, APeterson (Vikings) ran it at 4.55. Forte is BIGGER and FASTER the APETE. I am not saying he will be better, but in football those stats can be misleading. Was Peterson injured when he ran that?
  7. I am trying to gauge Forte's speed. He ran a 4.4 or something like that. What did Hester run? D. Manning? Forte is a solid pick, but from his combine video, I think running a little lower would be something he would work on. Solid day for the Bears though.
  8. I didn't know Soto was trade bait in the past. Figures, one of the least hyped minor leaguers is the one that just might turn out.
  9. I hope Benson gets cut. Hub Arkush said that he will never be able to repeat the mediocrity that he showcased the past few seasons because he won't be able to plant his leg like he used to.
  10. Could any of the QBs left be franchise QBs?
  11. I've heard good things about Forte. Draftcast says the Bears have had a good day so far.
  12. Do the Bears go for a WR now that all the good ones might still be left?
  13. Mendenhall goes to Pittsburgh. That will work out nicely for him. Good football city, good team.
  14. definitely not, too much money. Mendenhall was projected to be gone already, so isn't he worth the money in this slot?
  15. Is there even the slightest chance that Mendenhall makes in to the second round, 13th pick?
  16. Angelo should trade up for Mendenhall now that he is this far down
  17. 15 innings through 23 games is too much. Lou knows this, but he also wants to win. Once Howry begins to get his arm back, Marmol will get some time off because Lou will be able to trust him in tight games.
  18. Lou himself has said that early in the season he doesn't like to stretch out his pitchers. Once he does, the load will be lighter for the pen which will probably have a positive effect on everyone. I wouldn't worry about Howry. He doesn't start throwing 95 until the summer.
  19. What was so amazing was that he dove so close to the wall like that. He must have dove before the warning track. I wonder if he knew how close he was to the wall.
  20. Matt is the groundball king. Why PH him? When a player is announced, he has to hit. When is he supposed to be announced? When he leaves the on-deck circle?
  21. Because the pitch was nowhere close to being a strike? If it's a hit and run and the pitch is relatively close, you gotta swing. At least attempt to foul it off.
  22. I thought Milledge was going to have to make a Johnsonesque play. Tough out. Is it just me, or are teams moving the center field wall back in almost all the new parks?
  23. The whole bullpen had a great view of that and Kerry was like "Wow." I think the rest of them stood up and clapped.
  24. As has been shown in other threads, there is room on every team for one relief pitcher who is just as important as the starters. Those high-leverage innings add up. Marmol at this point I would argue projects at just one win above replacement worse than Oswalt for the season and is younger and cheaper. I'd have to think hard before making that trade straight up. How do you factor win projections for relievers?
