  1. The NL is winning this one. The AL is soft at the end of the pen. That is where the game will be won.
  2. Living in Atlanta I get to hear.... Ernie Johnson and John Smoltz. They have to be quickly climbing that ladder, even though this is Smoltz's first season. Thankfully, Chip only does a few games.
  3. Can the Hawks afford Niemi now that they signed Hjalmarson? If they don't sign Niemi due to Hjalmarson, Bowman should be fired. The Hawks don't have a superstar on offense. The won with depth, and now that depth has been seriously depleted. Any word on whether the Hawks will send Huet down to the minors? Would Rocky eat 5 million to save Niemi?
  4. Bosh is not very photogenic is he? I have yet to see LeBron at the center of any pictures. This has to hurt his brand. "The chosen one" - ha! He isn't even the chosen one on his won team.
  5. I wonder if a player would ever take a risk at trying to negotiate a highly incentive-laden contract that would give them the chance of doubling their salary if they performed up to expectations.
  6. I really can't think of one move that ever turned out well for MJ as an owner/GM. He just isn't very good at working the front office in basketball. Concerning Reddick, why sign him when you have a very similar player in Korver? Get Barnes who is a little more athletic and guards the 2's significantly better? I am tired of the Bulls trotting out their 6'3" 2 guards.
  7. Haslem, Chalmers, and Miller are not also rans. They are putting together a solid team. They just need a center. Shaq? That is until David Stern steps in and voids LeBron's contract due to collusion. He has burned too many bridges with Cleveland and will go to the Bulls.
  8. Every time Jesse Jackson opens his mouth, he sets back racial equality. African Americans deserve a much better pubic representative.
  9. Is Fisher even going to be a starter in LA now that Blake was brought in?
  10. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-bears-biggs-0709,0,352900.story Green Bay will be around there, the Bears will be around there. But Minnesota is winning more than that and Detroit is too. Detroit is shaping up to be quite a team. They have too much talent to win 3 games.
  11. Wait the Bulls might get Korver and Reddick? That is exceeding the maximum of one white shooting guard that is allowable. Reisndorf thinks the Bulls are better than the Heat. And that was before Reddick! http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/ct-spt-0710-bulls-jerry-reinsdorf-chi20100709,0,4251493.story
  12. He's about as good as Ben Gordon. Both try hard, but they both just don't have the size or athleticism to do it well.
  13. They are using Obama's federal budget theory: buy now, figure out how to pay later.
  14. LeBron will make more in Miami due to not having to pay state taxes and Cleveland's excessive 2% city tax. Of course LeBron could get a sixth year in Cleveland, but he will obviously won't stop playing after this contract. He really isn't leaving much money on the table. http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/07/lebron-could-make-more-money-in-miami-than-cleveland---thank-you-state-taxes.php
  15. The reason the Jazz aren't contending for a championship is because the Lakers have Kobe. The paint is a factor, but it doesn't come close to Kobe.
  16. I don't buy that. I don't think that would keep LeBron from signing a deal of this magnitude if he thought Chicago was the best place for him to go. From everything I heard, LeBron made his decision by himself. Reinsdorf was interviewed today and he said the only thing LeBron demanded was his own personal trainer and Reinsdorf agreed to it.
  17. He's a 2 right? Who will play 3?
  18. Is Matt Barnes available?
  19. The AP talked to Gilbert. Gilbert says LeBron quit on his team in the playoffs.
  20. If Pietrus is available, take a go at him.
  21. Eh, I guess I can agree with that. Every year was a different combination. Every single season/trading deadline over the past three years it was like spring training in baseball. You felt new hope and renewed confidence. Then they would manage to find some sort of way to blow it. I guess I can't really blame the guy for leaving either. But, he did it in what has to be the worst case scenario. Sign with another team. Don't turn it into a [expletive] circus. LeBron had his say in personnel decisions too.
  22. Tom Izzo's Twitter: WOOOOOOAAAAA I ALMOST MADE A HUGE MISTAKE
  23. Don't worry Bulls fans. Noah likes Chicago's roster better.
  24. Between this and wishing the Bulls still had Hinrich and Salmons you're on a roll tonight. John Salmons is a fine basketball player. For two half-years he has been. If he keeps up the level of play he had in Milwaukee, he'll be good. If he regresses to career averages, that contract will be awful. Skiles gets the most out of guys and demands defense from them. Without Redd and Bogut they almost beat Atlanta. Salmons will be fine there.
  25. Dan Gilbert did everything possible to support LeBron. Lebron didn't have a great playoff run when it mattered most. I don't know what more Gilbert could have done to get him to stay. LeBron needed a guy like Pippen, a great second option, but they just didn't want to come.
