What % of the new revenue that would come in after the renovation is held up by the rooftop owners?

Which is why you wonder if Tom didn't have the money for the renovations and now does.

I mean, at some point (which appears to be NOW), they just tie this up in court -- if necessary, all the way until the agreement runs out. Pretty sure the court case won't be going for 8 years There won't be a renewal on that agreement, that's for sure. The point being, it's pretty short-sighted to fight the Cubs on this thing, either way. It can't end well for them. If they fight until Ricketts raises his offer to say $150 million, it ends well. Probably what they are hoping for. Yes I want the Cubs to have more financial resources, but if the rooftop contract is as the rooftop owners say it is, I can't blame them. You can't just let Tom block you.

If Tom really had the legal right to block the rooftops, just seemed really late in the game to let everyone know he did. Wouldn't that have been something you alert the media and Cub fans to right away? Just seems shady. Wasn't it just this past winter that some details surfaced over the contract?

Yep. Tom is a fan-owner and wanted to see the rooftops saved. Done doing that.

I know this question has long been answered in this thread, but can Ricketts buy out just the affected rooftops and just pay double to end this?

20k a game in profit per rooftop is way too high isn't it? That would equal out to $250 million over 10 years. I can see why Ricketts doesn't want to pay that.

Won't the value of the houses the rooftops are on lose a sizable percentage if they can't host customers too?

What do the rooftops do in revenue on average per year the last 5 years?

Just pay the rooftop owners already. Give them $100 million if that is a fair deal. Between litigation costs, losing all of this extra revenue that could have been made, and the possibility that Tom loses in court, it would just be so much easier.

Bulls in a good position knowing that what 5 teams want Thibs. Great place to negotiate from. If Thibs was traded, how do you match salaries with a coach?

Kerr picks Golden State over the Knicks. I'm hearing that Dolan didn't want to pay what Kerr demanded in salary. I wonder if it has anything to do with Carmelo possibly leaving.

I don't see how anyone could be surprised. He was brought in for a private workout, he's one of the top prospects in an area of need. Heck, raw had him pegged as one of the top 6 most likely just a couple pages back. I had just heard Donald, Pryor, or Clinton-Dix as the likely candidates. You were listening in the wrong places. Heck, I predicted Fuller would be the pick last week if Donald was gone. Is there one mock draft that had Fuller to the Bears?

I think that is what happened. Clowney was trying to be smart, but he can't really admit that's what he was doing.

Zaidman also said that if a team really doesn't want to be on Hard Knocks, Goodell won't force it even though he could. Emery could make the case that they are working on a new defense and don't want give that away on the show.

Could always wait to trade Thibs to the Lakers after the draft order is revealed

Thibs has to realize that the team as currently constructed even with Rose and Mirotic isn't getting out of the East. Thibs will adapt. I don't think he's that dumb. He wants to win.
