  1. How long have you been on this board? are you taking a shot at yourself here? Yes. But seriously, what I'm doing is not new to me. Favre threw a bunch of INTs. But he threw a ton of TDs. He made up for it. Cutler hasn't done that here yet. The offense will improve with a real TE, a better Jeffery, and a better line. But that won't even get you to the NFC Champ game. Cutler has to be great. Sure it will get you there. And Cutler only had to be good against the packers in 2010. But in the NFC in 2013, good won't get you there. The NFC is much stronger now. The Seahawks of '10 were one of the worst playoff teams I have ever seen in the second round. A good Jay isn't going to beat Atlanta, San Fran, Seattle, and maybe Washington. Even if he had to be consistently good, that is an improvement which is what I've been saying all along. And Jay has yet to prove he can be consistently good.

  3. How long have you been on this board? Long enough to enjoy it when you venture off on one of your little...things. I am here for your enjoyment. Just you.
  4. Just about any QB can be a SB winning QB. Yes. Dilfer did. But on this team, Cutler has to be Pro Bowl level. Interesting, considering the defense on this team was the best in the NFL last year. Didn't realize losing gimpy Brian Urlacher made this a team that had to rely completely on its offense/QB to get anywhere. Third in points. But the Bears were going nowhere in the playoffs if they had made it even with a better line if Cutler is not significantly better. The player who plays the single most important position in all of team sports has to be great unless you are on the 1985 Bears or 2000 Ravens. This Bears defense is good, but not that good.

  7. Unless they win the Super Bowl without him getting any smarter. Then he would just be a Super Bowl winning participant QB. That won't ever happen. Who lauds Cutler for his in-game decision making? It's his weakness. It has to get better. He's a franchise QB bc of his arm strength and escapability. Nothing else.
  8. Is Cutler a SB winning QB if he doesn't progress and gets protected like he did in Denver? No. He has to get better. Get smarter.
  9. Jay has all the physical skills in the world. My only question is will he progress. Has Jay improved at all in Chicago? If he can't with Trestman this year, I would be wary that Jay is a SB caliber QB.
  10. Trade Cutler for two first rounders and a second to Jacksonville. Start Edwards, tank the season. Get two top 5 picks.
  11. That INT just stands for everything people hate about Cutler. Brings back bad memories. He just seems to refuse to check down or throw the ball away. When you have trouble scoring like the Bears have, you can't be that careless. I don't think the Bears can win the SB if Cutler doesn't improve on that sort of play. We'll see.
  12. Looks like JWebb was asked to take a pay cut from $1.3 million down to the veteran minimum of $650k or else he would have been cut. He can earn it back through incentives, but if Scott gets healthy Webb looks to be gone. Frees up some cap room. http://my.chicagotribune.com/#section/434/article/p2p-77078198/
  13. Maybe, but he actually made the throw and very few people can do it today. Are you under the weird impression that players used to throw harder? I am under the impression that very few people can make that throw who are in the league now.
  14. Maybe, but he actually made the throw and very few people can do it today.
  15. Good point about good DTs in the division. Long and Suh is going to be a great matchup.
  16. What position does he think Long should be playing? He thinks he's on the wrong side because he's left handed and on the right side. I kind of agree, but handedness is less important for a guard. And he's not playing LT while Bushrod (by cracky) is here. You can play RG and be lefty but not RT?
  17. What position does he think Long should be playing?
  18. Hub said Long has bad hands. Hub is never wrong, so I wonder what he'll say today.
  19. Bears doing some serious hitting tonight
  20. Bostic read that play pretty well
  21. "Trestman wants to build men through the vehicle of football." Sure...
  22. When was the last time the Bears had an offensive minded head coach?
  23. Wow Chargers. Doesn't matter who the coach is I guess.
  24. Let's say Bears go 10-6 and Cutler goes 30-16 TD/INT. Bears lose in first round of playoffs. What does Cutler get? $17 million for 5 years?
