Jets select Alabama S/DB Mark Barron. I really like Nick Perry as a prospect, but Barron is the best safey in this draft by miles and miles. Plug him in with Landry and the Jete have the best set of DB talent in the NFL no contest. Almost logged 40 starts in Nick Saban's D and has been arguably their best DB in his 3 starting seasons. No safety in this class coordinates and communicates with the other DBs better, no one has the physicality + the experience + the success, and few have actually made as many plays against the pass than him. I think he's an 8+ year starter in his league and in the quality defenses. Plus, I think on skill alone he's one of the 15 or 20 best players in this draft. The 4.55 while not 100% pretty much clinched it, as did the 38" vert and something else I'm forgetting. Plus, Rex Ryan gets/likes his DBs because it's all about stopping the pass now. They know how to stop the run, but the way they lost those two AFCCGs (Colts passing in the 2nd half, Steelers running in the first half) and last year's dropoff (slight) on D can be explained by the safety play/talent on the roster. Pretty much the ideal pick here even on draft day for me.
