  2. Konz is an awesome C prospect. IMO with guys like Mangold and Mack as a prospect and th gap between DeCastro and him (or Glenn inside) is not that large at all. I had him to the Packers in a mock I made up last night. Can slide right into LG for the Ravens, who won't miss Grubbs as much. Branch is a decent pick for the Packers.
  3. How optimistic are you with Shark? I'm finding myself very optimistic. He's the best athlete on the pitching staff, he's got a big durable frame, and MUCH improved mechanics over the years. After Garza he's probably the most talented guy on the staff, and unlike Garza his athleticism probably allows for good D and pither competence with the bat in his hands. Volstad I see as a possible bad 3 good 4 on a champ staff.
  4. 5'10" 193 at the combine... I see the character issues making him fall to the 2nd, but he's not THAT short. It'll hurt him with some of the tall WRs, but he's so good at coverage that I don't think it'll affect him that much. Basically... If Jenkins didn't have those character issues, he would AHEAD of Claiborne IMO. Yeah I think the best pure cover guy in this draft. Don't remember the last cancer the Bradychicks had, but if they like his size and the character isn't an issue then it's a great pick. I'm glad I took Barron because he's a really obvious Pats pick. Would you have considered him if he fell so far? Would have hated to see him on the Ravens or Pats when the Jets basically have one starting caliber safety on the roster.
  5. At 43? Yeah, he'd probably be interesting. I just think he screams future reliever, and it's not even just his size. He throws like a reliever. I'll give him that he's athletic and long limbed, which should help him out if he hopes to be a starter, but pretty much everything else screams reliever. Otoh I think he can be a pretty impressive reliever...David Robertson with a better fastball and less control...actually maybe even a Marmol type with the devestatimg breaking pitch from hell.
  6. He'll make an excellent closer for someone one day.
  7. Been hearing Jenkins won't even go in the first due to his size as well as his character issues. Isn't he like 5'8 190 soaking wet? That said, he's got unbelievable recovery speed and should be able to run with anyone.
  8. Very cool to get to open against the Nats.. The two franchises are at different stages but both up and coming. I hope they rock Strasburg.
  9. I know who you were talking about. I'm saying, I think Candelario could show up at Peoria before Javier Baez at Peoria. Jeffrey Baez was listed with the XST crop, and I imagine he's probably headed for a XST/Boise path, but who knows. I'm oddly high on Jeffrey Baez. He performed well, is as young as most of these guys, plays CF....I think AzPhil might have had a positive remark or two on him at some point. One of my dreams for the Theo era is a legit 5 tool center fielder who walks...basically a Carlos Beltran type player but switch hitting isn't a big key. Anyone who MIGHT be that I will follow....Brett Jackson might even be that guy actually, as I really like his tools and swing.
  10. I'm not following. Justin Upton trade 2014. Face palm it.
  11. Exxxxxaaaaaaacccctlllllyy maaaaaan.
  12. The Baez I'm talk about is the young CF prospect who IIrc was also in the DSL.
  13. Hernandez or Penalver? Penalver sounds like he'll be a defense first SS.
  14. Candelario better live up to that hype. The D'Backs aren't going to want just anyone, ya know? WINK Where might he play this year? Will Jeffry Baez be joining him? I think Baez is a decent low level sleeper.
  15. I'm just going to have to say that using half season splits on a 20 year old is a tough sell. All in all a guy who made an impact at 20 and has hovered around average from 20-22 is a decent bet to be something significant over the course of a 15+ year career. Im a big fan of this pitcher, especially as a second contract buy. I'll hop off the trade thing since its not a great argument anyway. Still not a big fan of Turner...
  16. IIRC Suggs had almost 30 sacks at ASU. Burfict didn't do all that.
  17. Quick someone list the GMs renowned for the contracts they handed out.
  18. With numbers like that I can see why we expect athletes to be role models.
  19. //thread. Bet no one is pissed when the Cubs find someone worth joining that bunch.
  20. Yes, but you want him 2-3 years ago when he was 2-3 years younger. He has a big contract, he has a bad attitude, a 3rd round pick is more valuable than he is right now based on salary and future potential. No, over the past 2-3 years. He was arguably the best CB in the NFL last year. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stat-analysis/2012/best-cornerback-charting-stats-2011 Samuels' game is based around baiting QBs, which he's only gotten better at since he was a lad. Eli Manning has actually said he avoids throwing in his direction just because he's so good at forcing you to make the throw he wants you to make. Decline might be a-coming because he's geting older, but he's shown 0 signs of it in his performance. Not surprised to see a smart franchise like the Titans linked.....
  21. what? no. the bullpen is where you learn to throw as hard as you can every pitch since you're only going to be out there for an inning. YOU SOUND AFRAID. Did you say D-d-d-d-Dodgers! *shits pants*
  22. what? no. the bullpen is where you learn to throw as hard as you can every pitch since you're only going to be out there for an inning. O really? Earl Weaver and Johan Santana say you can learn to pith with your fastball and be more aggressive with your off speed. The fact that the fastball sees a boost in velocity is just part of what throwing less innings per appearance allows. That's a ridiculous claim anyway...a good reliever is still a pitcher, not some renegade out there throwing as hard as possible. He's still got to learn to locate and command his fastball, his slider is certainly not FULLY developed....change up....I bet he starts at some point this season anyway. If not, then next year it is...when he's all of what...25? Sucks for fantasy GMs out there.
  23. :shakes fist: Hightower is a monster. ILB or OLB.... Big steal for the Lions getting Gilmore, who I think will be a high end CB in this league. Cordy Glenn fits the Bengals' massive, massive OL. So anyone want to let the Jets trade up into the early second?
  24. As far as Asante Samuel, FO has him right with Revis over the past 2-3 years. In a zone scheme he's the guy you want.
  25. 16 year old? Yikes. Nice Exactly. That kid isn't pissed he got to do some fuckin. The girl is pretty hot too. I hope at the trial they give him the gold "luckiest boy in class" star sticker. I wish some hot chick "molested" me when I was 16.
