  1. I'm irrationally bothered by Duffy's success after learning a few weeks ago of his sub .600 college OPS. And good, Rondon didn't throw many pitches. Let someone else handle the 9th; save him for tomorrow.
  2. I can't believe Lester threw to 2nd base. I think that's his first over-hand throw to a base since those April pickoffs.
  3. I might honestly be more comfortable with Schwarber's range than Soler's.
  4. Yes! Now let's put an infielder at 2B with the lead.
  5. The ump totally would've called that a strike had Posey not had to throw down to 2nd.
  6. remember when everyone thought the Cubs reached with their first pick last year
  7. Ugh, this is going to become the new thing now.
  8. David, you're trying too hard to turn this into a Javy/Brett Jackson situation when it just isn't the same thing. Oh no, now he'll only be worth 5 wins instead of 7.
  9. These should become the Brewers' permanent uniforms. Best in baseball, I think. The Cubs, on the other hand, need to get rid of the ones they're wearing.
  10. 1 game back of the Giants if the bullpen holds this. Yay.
  11. Starlin's going to win us this game, damnit.
  12. Don't be afraid to check where the defenders are before the pitch, Anthony...
  13. 88 is generous. More like 86.
  14. Yeah, and you can fit about 10 Wrigley Fields into Marlins Park. He's better than Richard and we gave up two non-prospects, but I'm pretty bummed about this.
  15. I like the Hunter trade. He averages 96.1 mph and does throw a curve ~25% of the time so he's not necessarily Motte 2.0. Maybe Bosio can get some more K's out of him. The Haren/rotation stuff on the other hand, ugh. Was definitely hoping for more.
  16. We don't really know what we're looking at in the majors until we see how his adjustments work out at the big league level. Ehhh, I think we can state the 30+%, sub 10% stuff with confidence. I was being generous with 30%; the hope is that he's not too far over that.
  17. I really don't know how to feel about Baez, but I THINK I'd be OK with moving him for Ross. The new swing/lower body adjustment is cool, but we're still looking at a K rate north of 30% and a sub 10% BB rate in the Majors. Can anyone really survive and be good with that? If someone can, it's a power hitting middle infielder, I guess. But then we look at what poor discipline has done to Soler's raw power. I don't know, man, I just go back and forth with Javy. I'm not sure what we'd do with Castro's spot if Baez were to be traded. I think he can bounce back in 2016, but he's most likely toast for this season.
  18. Everything has been great since that Rizzo dong.
  19. I'm hoping that means he closes Oh I think he definitely will now. Pretty sure Maddon views him as the best reliever, so I thought he'd pitch him against the middle of the order. Nice job by Strop though,
  20. if i had seen that, i would've just gotten super excited and pretended it meant it was trade time I'm starting to confuse your posts with ARCubsfan. i've never particularly liked him as a non-player so when he sucks i just despise him Nah, I'm just messin'. I want him traded too. Or do I????
  21. With 3-4-5 due up, I'm surprised Rondon isn't in.
