  1. My point being, is that people have already made up their minds to hate Bradley. Even when that hilarious jokester Ryan Dempster, comes out and says we'd welcome him back, he must be lying just cause he's such a nice guy. When Jake Fox gets traded and says that Bradley helped him out and was nothing but nice, well he's just saying the right things. But when Ryan Theriot said things are different in the clubhouse, burn that [expletive] witch.
  2. Alex Rios and Juan Pierre aren't similar at all.
  3. I can only assume by the quotes around his age that you think Soriano is going to be found out to be older than his stated age...again? Judging by his BABIP last year, I'd say not close to last year. Fontenot and Marmol. Are there guys likely to regress the other way? Of course, but last year's team way underachieved. The problem isn't so much that last year's team wasn't good enough, it's that we're actively removing talent from last year's team without replacing it with similar level players.
  4. See if you needle RedFlash enough he'll eventually let you know his true feelings, and man is it worth it.
  5. And you are criticizing him for that? Doesn't bother me much, but to pretend Gammons doesn't show a clear bias is just wrong.
  6. Anti-Yankee bias, and yes Kapler is beloved Red Sock for reasons I don't quite understand.
  7. You are supposed to give up that bias when you become a journalist, at least in your work. I never picked up any bias toward any team from Gammons. I think sometimes people see things that aren't there. The guy was nearly in tears over Nick Swisher striking out Gabe Kapler. I have no idea what you are talking about. Is this a joke? When the Yankees were getting blown out by the Rays this year, Swisher pitched an inning and struck out Kapler. Swisher asked for the ball and Gammons threw a hissy fit on baseball tonight about it, saying Swisher would be lucky to be half as remembered as Gabe Kapler when his career was over. It was embarrassing.

  9. I'd take the guy who's actually still good at football.
  10. Big Ten titles In the NCAA tournament era: Illinois: 17 Indiana: 17 Ohio State: 14 Michigan State: 11 Purdue: 9 Michigan: 8 Iowa: 6 Wisconsin: 5 Minnesota: 3 Northwestern: 0 Penn State: 0
  11. I didn't know Purdue had any Petes on those teams, let alone 3.
  12. I am definitely jealous of a professional bellhop.
  13. Because typo only means a misspelling? : an error (as of spelling) in typed or typeset material Merriam Webster seems to think so.
  14. Oh, Bum misspelled congresswoman as senator. My apologies
  15. ncaa.org says: Does women’s basketball make a profit? For a few select schools, it does.
  16. Besides, I wouldn't trust Pelosi's liberal bias anyway. You should have gotten both sides of the political spectrum and interviewed Governor McCain, maybe Pope Guiliani
  17. And how is Nancy Pelosi "active in the title IX issue?"
  18. This is embarrassing. They will not have any say. You are the only person who remotely thinks so. Please stop. It's called equality in athletics and it weighs very heavily on athletic directors. Anyone who thinks the women coaches won't be demanding a say in the divisions, and causing problems if they don't get it, doesn't know how an athletic department works. Please find me any evidence that women's athletics has played any role in any actual or proposed conference realignment, when the women's sports interests ran counter to what would be best for revenue sports. Hint: You will be looking until the end of time. Maybe just maybe I did a 90 page assignment for the dreaded J102 class at Ball State on Title IX. And maybe for the 90 page assignment I talked to Senators active in the Title IX issue, including Nanci Pelosi, as well as AD's from the MAC. Maybe one of the topics I discussed with every AD was how much they listen to the women coaches and whether or not they get equal say on department wide decisions. Maybe every single one of them said women get 100% equal say. Finally maybe two of the AD's said they must listen because all it takes is one coach to go to the media and they would get a lot of negative press that they really don't want. Well did you or not? Enough of this maybe [expletive].
  19. Considering your only argument seems to pertain to Big 10 titles, why is Purdue ahead of the other 3 schools with the same # of titles since 1980 (weirdass cutoff point)
  20. It's called equality UM, maybe if you worked in an athletic department like the Bum you'd get that.
  21. Thread title change to "CubbieBum embarrasses himself AGAIN" plz
  22. Indiana went to the Rose bowl like 50 years ago, and since we need to try and project teams going forward, I think we can assume Indiana will be an elite football team.
  23. So if we're worried about how teams are going to be years down the line, the best way to determine who'll be good is by looking at results from 70 years ago.
  24. Frank Martin is an incompetent boob. Real nice win though.
  25. Chiasson Randle after his game at Assembly Hall tonight. “It was something I looked into a bit," Randle said. "I actually got the call (that Beal committed) from my dad while I was in school. I'm happy for him ...It would have been nice for him to be here with me. (pause) If I make a decision to come here. (laugh) But best of luck to him.”
