  1. Love that he said it, would love it more if he said it to a national tv audience. Especially while Vitale continues to defend every coach in existence.
  2. it was the worst display of basketball i've seen in a while. they are so undisciplined. richmond looked okay despite being hurt. From the time I turned it on, Ames must've scored half their points on breakaways off of steals beyond the 3 point line. Just awful.
  3. Waukegan doesn't run an offense. What a waste. He should've transferred to Findlay.
  4. No 'probably' about it. ND makes significantly less money as an independent than they would in the Big Tweleven. Jack Swarbrick even said so. when they were in BCS bowls, they had a leg to stand on (not having to share their take) but now that they're turning down the pizza bowl, I'm sure they'd love to have a 1/12th cut of all the big Ten bowl payout The previous AD made the genius move of negotiating it so that ND receives about a third of the money they used to when making BCS games but receives about twice as much as it used to when it doesn't. I think ND's decision on whether or not to join the Big Ten would have a lot less to do with football than it would with academics and such. It's supposedly the ND faculty and some of the administration that most wants to join the league for academic benefit (basically the ones that are annoyed that Notre Dame has a notable football program and yet reap financial benefit from said football program), but the alumni and most of the fans are vehemently against it. IIRC, it went to a vote back in '99 and the faculty voted for it, but the athletic department voted against. Texas is in much the same situation, their faculty would love to be apart of the Big Ten, and if they got the right president in there, they'd definitely go for the Big Ten. I know it's weird for OleMiss to think somebody would consider a school's academics rather than the quality of fake [expletive], but they do.

My head is spinning, break it down for me in simpler terms D.
  6. Cause Nebraska and Kentucky are shitty schools, and the Big Ten would never allow Pearl to coach in it, and judging by the way things are going probably not Kiffin either.
  7. You and the Bum been sharing research info?
  8. CHRIST DERWOOD, I'm talking in the scenario that the Big Ten doesn't need to add a team by tomorrow. Texas flirted with the Big Ten when they went to the Big 12. I guess Iowa floated 800 miles north since then. Texas was bandied about the last time this topic came up(I dunno a couple years ago?) Florida and USC aren't remotely similar situations
  9. TEXAS? Them and Oklahoma are pretty much the center pieces of the Big XII and plus it wouldn't make any geographical sense anyways. The nearest schools to Texas that are in the Big Ten are literally over 1,000 miles away. Thanks, I've never seen a map, and don't understand this concept of the Big XII. I said both are likely to turn it down. Then why even suggest such an unrealistic possibility? Because they're the only ones worth pursuing. Can you [expletive] read?
  10. I think the opportunity cost is a big deal, and think you're wrong that ND or Texas would never accept. The landscape is already changing, and unless ND turns around their football program quickly, they're never going to make as much on their tv contract as the Big Ten teams are. Texas is never going to come close to a Big Ten TV contract with the # of slugs that nobody cares about in their conference. If you go another 10 years with 11 teams, what is the harm? The Big Ten has a wide enough reaching fanbase, that the network is going to grown on its own, they don't need quick fixes like adding a team to get a mid-level market on the books.

  12. There is no intelligent reason to expand with the shitty options you provided. How bout that? As already stated, nobody gives a [expletive] about Rutgers. The Pittsburgh market is already a part of the BTN (via PSU). That leaves making a short-sighted move of adding Missouri so you can add St. Louis for your cable station? Really?? It's dumb, and it's a short-term cash grab to hurt your potential in the long-term. You make hard runs at Texas and ND, schools that will give you serious market share in cities that matter while being schools that will actually draw attention to your conference. Is anybody outside of the Post-Dispatch going to care about the dynamite acquisition of [expletive] MissourI? If Texas/ND say no then you have 11. Perish the thought of having no championship game! How bout you act like the Pac 10 and schedule up to that last week. Put OSU/UM up against whatever [expletive] the ACC is running out for their title game year after year.
  13. It actually sounds like he got a raw deal to me. This laptop thing seems pretty trumped up. Didn't sound to me like this was a one incident situation. Then following his situation, it doesn't seem he did much to get back in Tubby's good graces. Good for Tubby. It's cold, but he should really root against Royce now.
  14. In the abstract I agree that a moment like that would be particularly hurtful, but not for the reasons Norton is saying. Whether she can remember the specifics of a time when he was cheating shoudln't mean nearly as much as the fact that it's days like that when you would feel the closest bond to the one you're married to. When you find out that even at a moment as damaging to one's psyche as a parent dying, he was busy worrying about what ass he'd nail next; you realize there was never an emotional attachment there, and you were just another hole for him.
  15. Royce White officially gone from Minnesota.
  16. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/chi-17-big-ten-brite-dec17,0,3820862.story 12 is bad enough. The only schools that should be considered are Notre Dame and Texas. If they don't want in, then you stick with 11. Texas in the Big 10 would be very strange and unnatural. I'm not saying it's likely, but they had been mentioned a couple years ago during that year's Big 10 expansion rumor. I think they'd definitely make more money out of it, but losing the Texas school rivalries makes it extremely unlikely. My main point is there's no need for expansion. Expanding for the sake of expansion with a middle of the road BCS school like Mizzou is stupid. Go big or stand pat.

  18. and women's volleyball or something like that too. Bum's gonna have my ass for missing that one.
  19. I heard TCU. Their basketball team is probably less embarrassing than USF was when they entered the Big East(or present day DePaul)
  20. West Virginia lost their basketball and football coaches to Michigan in the span of 9 months.
  21. ESPN's bottom line said he jumped in the back of the truck following a domestic dispute. Likely she was going to drive away from him and he chased after.
  22. Yeah, but Dana O' Neil is an idiot.
  23. You're a dork.
  24. Absolutely not. A small part of me would die if the NL got the DH. Without a doubt I'd prefer if the AL got rid of the DH. But if it meant a more equitable playing field, I could probably live with it. I don't think the DH plays as big of a role as you do. It's the difference in the owners of the big market teams.
  25. Absolutely not. A small part of me would die if the NL got the DH.
