  1. They still have cap room.
  2. Also, way more than 90% of colleges have nothing to gain by gaming the NCAA system because they're not attracting pro quality talent to begin with. If you think 90% of big time college programs are following NCAA rules I think you're being pretty naive. I'll freely admit I have no real evidence to back that up but I think I'm right. I'd agree with you on the % of colleges following NCAA rules, but as far as using players who should be ineligible, I don't know 80-85% maybe?
  3. I'm assuming when a person says all-star caliber they're not talking about Jamaal Magloire or Theo Ratliff. ETA: Noah's career could turn out the way Ratliff's should have if he was motivated and healthy
  4. After Howard, who is an all-star caliber center? Lopez, Bogut, maybe Bynum would be better options than Noah? Does Duncan count as a center too? I guess it depends on your definition of center. There aren't many guys who play traditional center anymore, but it's not like the all star teams have requirements that you have to play a certain % of minutes inside the paint to make the team. Lee, Howard, Horford, Bosh, and Garnett were the frontcourt players to make the team from the East last year. I don't see Noah as being on any of their levels (Even with Garnett's decrepitness)
  5. I agree, the age limit rule sucks.
  6. I edited my original post a few times FYI
  7. Oh, Noah's an all-star caliber player now?
  8. I mentioned that like a month ago. Probably in this exact thread. You hate Paul Pierce because he hams it up when he gets hurt and hate Garnett because he yelled at the Bulls from the bench. Isn't that pretty silly? And I don't even hate Rose. (Except for his performance in the last minute of the title game). I don't see how pointing out that he's of below average intelligence is anything to get worked up about. It was a joke. Jokes that multiple Bulls fans have laughed at. If you're speaking to the larger point based on what I've written in college threads, that has a lot more to do with a level playing field than any sort of moral code. If there are rules in place that 90% of the schools are following, it puts them at an unfair disadvantage to the Memphis, UKs, and USCs of the world who don't.
  9. Recently, your reactions have taken over as reason #1
  10. Great, now somebody's going to take that seriously. I'm low on Colvin, but I still got pissy when I saw him being compared to Francouer...And now I see the follow-up that he doesn't look as good as Francouer. Ugh. SELL SELL SELL
  11. They're changing the tiebreaker rule to a spelling bee next season
  12. I wonder if Rose could even find it.
  13. I'd say Mutumbo was an above average big.
  14. Not really. It just means it take a little bit longer. Land either Boozer or Lee and you fill a hole right now. In 6 months, you might be able to acquire a nice SG, to fill another hole. Landing Bosh/James/Wade would make the job easier, but there is are more then one way to build a contender. The Bulls did not clear massive amounts of salary cap space to get Carlos Boozer or David Lee. Either of those paired with one of the 3 "bigs" would be fine...but by themselves...the Bulls would be a FA loser. I'm nt ready to embrace that defeatist attitude, yet. Nobody's saying they have no chance at the big 3, but I don't know how you could view David Lee and Kyle Korver as a nice offseason.
  15. At least you wouldn't be the Knicks. ETA: Or the Hawks. I'd rather be shut out than to sign either of those contracts. Get Lee, and a 1 year shooter, then aim for Melo next year. Melo's gonna sign that extension in Denver. I didn't say it was likely, (I think he's Denver, NY, or NJ) more saying don't panic and give Al Harrington 10M to show you did something.

  17. I personally hoping "Who knows of any good places to live in Chicago?" Follow up tweet: Where my good friend Richard Jefferson would be accepted for who he is.
  18. What do the Cavs have to send the other way?
  19. Does Bosh want to go to Cleveland? I think he's more concerned with being with Lebron or Wade than the city.
  20. That's my hope. I wouldn't count on it. Players understandably love money. It's not like he'd be forever missing out on all the money, correct? I mean, theoretically there's no reason why he couldn't make it back in his next deal. If a guy signs a deal that takes him into his early 30's, he should be able to sign another before his career is ending. Becoming a free agent one year earlier in your 30's, as opposed to one year closer to your mid 30's should be somewhat beneficial. Maybe he won't make it all back, but a significant amount. I think fans (and players) are understandably concerned about what the landscape will be back after the new CBA. You take the guaranteed 30M now, in case the CBA turns that into 15M should he sign for 5 years. That and Wade relies heavily on driving and getting to the free throw line, it's not out of the question that he could be a beaten down Tracy McGrady in 5 years
  21. I've been surprised to read so little about this in the thread. I wasn't around much over the weekend, but ESPN really seemed to be playing up the kids angle with regards to Wade. Do you all just view this as posturing? Seems like kind of a scumbag thing to bring up if he wasn't serious about coming to Chicago.
  22. If you miss out on the free agents you look like the poor man's Eastern Conference version of the Jazz with weaker role players. And a weaker point guard. Of course, if the Jazz don't adequately replace Boozer, then they're probably worse than the Bulls. Well and considering worst case has the Bulls getting Boozer or the Boozer like Lee, then they'd clearly be worse.
  23. What? I'm saying it's somewhat shaky to assume the reporter's story is based on reliable information. Flames is saying that can't possibly be true, Derrick Rose is a genius When asked about LeBron and Bosh a week ago, Rose said, "They would be fools not to come here." I'll trust that over anything a Cavs source has to say about our situation. Maybe Lebron didn't appreciate being called a fool by a guy who can't spell his own name.
  24. I found the Trachsel trade to be a really sad indictment of the front office. I agree that it wasn't horrific in a vaccuum, but it showed that the people in charge didn't know how to interpret the simplest of statistics, and were more concerned with cramming an empty ERA from a veteran into the rotation at the expense of a young pitcher who was clearly better.
