Thus far the best deal of the day is paying John Salmons 8M/year This assures that Milwaukee will be floating around somewhere in the bottom 4 teams to make the playoffs in the East for awhile now. Congrats to them. Deals like these give me hope that someone will take Deng. The other 3 sports have their mind-boggling contracts, but I don't think either holds a candle to the NBA in terms of fall-down hilarity. Darko for 20M? [expletive] it, let's do it! I cannot wait to see what kind of deal Telfair gets

I don't think Pierce would accept any kind of MLE deal, and I don't see (hope not) the Bulls giving him max money. Allen possibly could be had at the MLE, but not Pierce. I'd be a little surprised to see Allen at the MLE at this point. Pierce will probably wind up back with Boston for way too much money for too money years, effectively killing their chances at reloading around Rondo and Perkins.

I haven't heard a word on Paul Pierce. Part of me wants him to wind up a Bull just to see the back-tracking on here. Plus he's gonna be damn old by the end of that deal.

I don't see any scenario where Bosh, Lebron, or Wade sign for under max. And the Bulls CANNOT get 2 maxes without moving Deng. (Or Noah or Rose) Dumping the rookies won't get it done.

Bosh to Houston would make things nice and interesting with 2 of the top 4 gone to the non max contract teams. David Lee has to be loving this.

Hilariously wrong. Check your facts. ARAM's contract says he can walk at the end of 2010. Why would he want to stay here at all? Because he's hitting 072

The sign and trade would clear cap space, presumably. They are very close to enough space for two max as it is. Not unless they trade Deng it won't. right. I think it counts against the cap. The reason to do it is to get the player (Bosh) money he couldn't get with another team while getting Toronto something back. I either read or heard today that Toronto has no interest in taking back Deng, so I think we're out of that running. Unless Bosh wants to play for Chicago as a regular ol FA (b/c he wants to be on the Rose/James title teams), he's not going to be a Bull. And in order to sign as a regular FA, one of him or James would have to take less than max.

I'm not that well-versed in the intriciacies of the cap, but wouldn't a Bosh sign and trade coming first count fully towards the cap. In a case like Chicago where you can only afford 1 max (and the Raptors don't want Deng), doesn't a Bosh sign and trade mean no other top FA?

Cashner in the major league bullpen is a big complaint of mine, but I don't know who to place the blame on for that. Actually, the entire process of deciding who's in the big league bullpen has been effed up all year.

With that, some of the main players are probably getting shut out in free agency. Not enough chairs when the music stops. Too many chairs seems more apt.

Not a chance. We'll know where all the big guys are going by Saturday. I don't think so. THEY may know where they want to go, but they're going to relish in every single minute of media coverage they get about it. In fact, David Stern probably wants them to string it out to keep the NBA as the lead story every night Yeah the only one I see being public by Saturday is Wade staying in MIA

I still think it's a little dubious to assume the Bulls will get Boozer when so many teams are freeing up cap space that they're going to blow on somebody. I mentioned Cleveland's backcourt D because I know Jamison's a sieve and that Varejao is really damn good. I was saying it to say I don't know if adding defense to PER would help or hurt the Bulls cause.
