  1. This is what is confusing me about max deals. 5/80 is 16m per. Amare got 5/99.7 or nearly 20m per. The Atlanta guy got 6/119, nearly 20m per. What the heck is a max contract? Is it fluid for every player? In short, yes.
  2. Over a fairly brief period of time, and not if you include all his Daytona time. Wait now his time in Tennessee is a brief period of time? Why are you hammering him for it then?
  3. The concept of attempting to build your brand in a place where you don't have a very good chance to win seems silly to me. Well yeah, I said it was dumb. He'd be better off with the Clippers
  4. Because Bulls fans want him to. Because somebody has to eventually if basketball is ever going to be successful in Chicago again. Because people will get bored if he doesn't. Because the concept of competing with Jordan's legecy is pretty silly. The concept of attempting to build your brand in the same city as the most famous basketball brand of all time seems silly to me
  5. Because Rose, Boozer, Noah, Deng is far more appealing than Stoudemire and Gallinari or Mo Williams, Varejao and Jamison. That's the thinking, at least. But wasn't it a foregone conclusion that it was going to be Mumbles, Bozo, Deng, and Lee/Boozer? Does anyone think Lebron is changing his mind at the last minute for Carlos Boozer?
  6. ESPN 1000 Just said that Boozer has comitted for 5/80 to the bulls. That is quite good news and if Lebron hasnt decided yet that should increase our chances. I don't see how that really helps the Bulls chances. Did Lebron think they weren't going to sign anybody this entire offseason?
  7. I guess the Nets signing away David Lee won't be quite as upsetting now.
  8. Wasn't there a 2nd meeting? Maybe the Knicks intentionally made a horrible 1st impression, such that by comparison the 2nd meeting they'd look like geniuses. OMG Donnie Walsh can walk!!!
  9. It's gonna be pretty intense coverage for a 44 win team next year. This is probably the only team I wanted to get Lebron less than the Bulls (Though I'm still not sold he's not staying in Cleveland)
  10. It's according to Newsday...so maybe
  11. That would be really dumb. He'd be better off going to the Nets
  12. I'm sorry, but what has Colvin done that indicates he should be hitting ahead of Soriano already? People rail on Soriano for his OPS, but my God, he's positively Dunn-like compared to Colvin so far. And you're hindering the Cubs chances to get the "3-4 hitters" they need by already slotting Colvin into a corner OF spot. Don't forget, Colvin slots ahead of Soto in the lineup too
  13. 1M TO THE LAKERS
  14. Pessimism and Amar'e. I'm still holding out hope for disney world. The Knicks with Amare are still worse than Cleveland's supporting cast.
  15. Did I miss something, why is everyone thinking Knicks now?
  16. I don't follow basketball all that much, but it seems like if he'd go to Miami, who I understand has the cap room for him, they wouldn't have any other players to put around Wade, Bosh, and LeBron. It would be a bunch of league-minimum guys. If you have those 3 guys, though, I don't think you really need much else, but I'd think it would factor in. I'd say New York now has an edge as I'm sure he'd like to play alongside another superstar like Stoudemire. However, I'm a loyal sap so I'd be happy if he stayed in Cleveland and won multiple titles there. It seems like they'd have to put more around him, though, if he wanted to win. That's the same argument I heard with the Celtics though. Didn't really stop them from becoming a champion. Chalmers/Beasley are probably about where Rondo/Perkins were in '08, but my understanding is they'd be gone in that scenario. You can't really count on the Heat coming across a James Posey or Eddie House either. Of course, Lebron/Wade/Bosh are far superior to KG/Pierce/Allen
  17. Or maybe Durant knows if he waits one more year, a max deal won't be nearly as much as 5/85
  18. Of non-3 point specialists, I like Brewer, Wright, and Tony Allen.
  19. How's Lee's defense? I know it's pretty difficult to guage in the system he was in, but Boozer's pretty bad defensively.
  20. I posted that like 4 months ago
