That plan opens the playoffs to even worse teams, and continues to benefit teams in bad divisions thanks to the unbalanced schedule. -
Unfortunately, that seems to be the problem with too many of the Cubs. Marmol, Byrd, Fukudome (for salary reasons) and Zambrano (for salary reasons) probably won't get you equal value in prospects. I still don't know why people want to trade Fukudome. Trade Colvin to a small market team instead. The best trade proposal I've heard all season is Colvin for Gordon. I'm guessing we wouldn't have to give up Colvin to get Gordon

Geovany Soto kills left-handed pitching. Steve Clevenger kills right-handed pitching. I'd like to see that tandem sooner rather than later. He could go in the Rule 5 Draft though. Just saying. What? Like a platoon with one of the best catchers in baseball?

ABC has a contract to show the NASCAR race that night which is why there is no prime time game. Why would you enter into that contract if you're ABC? It's not like it's a surprise that there's college football going on the 2nd weekend in September

The whole damn thing makes me want to cry. So depressing. We might not ever have a team that good again top to bottom and it was good for third best in our division. Baseball sometimes just isn't fair. We had a better team top to bottom 4 years later.
