    This reminds me of the guy in the Grabow thread who yelled at everyone for freaking out about us re-signing him as he assumed we'd resign him to a 3Y/3M deal. That hypothetical trade isn't happening.

    His upside is a mid 3 ERA pitcher with plus batting and baserunning. How that not all that high?? His downside is season lost to injury, like every other pitcher. He's already there, so it's not an upside. It's what he's been. And that downside is huge. He's not a stock where you say he's at his upside now, get rid of him. His actual value to the Cubs is very likely not equal to the return value you'd get in a trade.

    I'm pretty sure the Packers gave them those games though. I don't know what's more hilarious to me. Bears fans acting holier than thou to Packers fans right now, or Bears fans fellating themselves over one win. The Packers losing last night was most hilarious to me.

    The game at Lambeau is pretty likely to be pointless, being the last game. Bears-Packers is always a big game. Not really. Maybe for some fans. But they've played plenty of meaningless ones, especially when it's last game of the season and nothing is on the line. Yeah hard to forget all the meatheads (or balls whatever sulley) in outrage because we weren't trying against the Packers on New Year's Eve cause the Packers had a tiny chance at making the playoffs. Then the Packers missed the playoffs anyway and Brett Favre cried erik-like tears.

    i think it's asu. Might be, I hope not. He actually called Iowa's Scout.com guy back to tell them that he didn't just cancel it, they pulled his offer. A lot more honesty than you get with most recruits. Sounds like they're confident they'll land Randle. that sounds like good news. for what it's worth, i hope you guys get oglesby. I don't. [expletive] Iowa.

    I see Melvin's name and I can think of nothing but that astronomically-overachieving Arizona team he managed in 2007. Makes my stomach turn. As for Wakamatsu, Managing historically bad Seattle teams isn't going to pad anyone's resume. I would think he's due another chance somewhere else, but I agree that I don't want him managing the Cubs. Wakamatsu managed one bad Seattle team. They grossly overachieved under him last year.
