  1. I phrased it poorly. It's probably not the Cubs paying United's appearance fee, but likely SUM. When SUM contracts a Euro team to go on a tour, they agree to give the touring club a cut of the gate as well as other rights, etc. So the Cubs would just likely be renting out the field. They wouldn't likely see much of the gate. Not much of the merch either, and probably not concessions. So what's the incentive? I'm not sure what the actual numbers would look like. But -- beyond the immediate numbers of this event, there the value of successfully branding Wrigley as a venue that can potentially support multiple types of events (i.e. future profit). They've done a pretty good job of this already, but I can see some potential benefit to rolling that idea out to a wider array of possibilities, even if this one event doesn't net much profit. But they didn't brand it as a viable football stadium, and from the sounds of it won't brand it as a viable soccer stadium either.
  2. Something else to note about him is how valuable it can be to have your "good" years fall at the right time. Maybe he should've had a good year in his last year at Seattle
  3. That guy knows it all.
  4. That was a pretty horrid Vandy team last year, though. They lost by 19 and 21 to mediocre UConn and Wake Forest teams. Only one of their losses was by less than two scores (Northwestern), though the Tennessee game was within a score most of the time. They did demolish Eastern Michigan, though, so I may have exaggerated some on how many MAC games they'd have won last year. UConn would go 12-0 in the MAC or Sun Belt
  5. His alleged sexual harassment of women makes Brett Favre look like a hero. let's clear that up. but wasn't it a 1-time issue with Tirico? Or was it just the 1 incident that got all the attention? let he among us who hasn't accidentally reached his hand between a beautiful female stranger's thighs after repeatedly being asked to stop cast the first stone. He dropped his keys.
  6. There's a lot of fat [expletive] Sean May going on with Sullinger.
  7. Matt Millen IMO
  8. Vandy is probably a 10 win team in the MAC or Sun Belt
  9. That was a shoulder block by that guy who ate Sean May
  10. Yep, Jimmy Dykes said Tobias Harris is on the same level as Sullinger
  11. Cam Cameron drove through Michigan once
  12. Why? Because it's freaking annoying. What's the point of it? You mean what's point of it.
  13. Kevin Brown never should have fallen off after 1 year. That's shameful. And Jack Morris deserved about 6 votes.
  14. That might be a better scenario for them. If Luck stays in school, they could either trade the pick to try to recoup the second rounder they traded last year, or just take the top guy on their board, lose a bunch of games in 2011 and still end up with Luck for the future. And they'd have a full year to see what they have in Clausen if they were smart.
  15. I thought he was only a junior. He's a 1st rounder
  16. This salvages a shred of dignity for the B10, but I'm not sure any gloating is in order, maybe for the next few years. Yeah, I don't think we have any reason to gloat. They went 3-5. It's not the rest of our faults that Michigan and MSU aren't legitimate programs. Both teams beat Illinois. Valid point though. We didn't want to win those games anyway
  17. Haha did Pryor just say "alright" and walk away when asked if we'll see him next year?
  18. Every team in the whole damn division was ranked except for our suckass team It's only because they weren't certain Masoli could play until the last minute
  19. This salvages a shred of dignity for the B10, but I'm not sure any gloating is in order, maybe for the next few years. Yeah, I don't think we have any reason to gloat. They went 3-5. It's not the rest of our faults that Michigan and MSU aren't legitimate programs.
  20. OSU barely beats Iowa, and Minnesota barely beats Indiana, and we're fretting over both already.
  21. NO YOU TAKE THE WIN
  22. Dave Diehl says University of Chief Illiniwek YOU CAN'T SILENCE HIM NCAA!!
  23. Yeah, that's not a safety
