I never thought I'd be desperately hoping that Manning would come back. I mean, I know he was really raw coming from Abilene, but his improvement has been damn near remarkable.

Yeah, Castro would have to be Ronny Cedeno 2006 to get benched. Seriously? Damon Buford over Corey Patterson is an example of organizational incompetence?? Corey was 20 and in his 2nd professional season. He never should've seen the bigs in 2002, let alone 2000.

Isn't Brett Jackson a better fielder than Colvin? Just wondering why Colvin is gonna stick at RF in 2014... They must think he's gonna be a very productive player considering that's all Cubs players in the OF (no FAs)... And Vitters, Flaherty, Watkins, and Ridling across the infield and Clevenger behind the plate. Whitest team ever. Well, not ever, but you know. Dave Kaplan just creamed himself. Pretty sure that's not the case. You can't be D1 football in one conference and D1 other sports in a conference that has D1 football. The Big East was the one who wanted TCU as football only, and TCU bargained to be in all sports, rather than get stuck in the MVC (or wherever) for their non-football sports.

They don't have the hate/hate affection that we Bears have for him just yet, but they are coming around. It's probably more of a like/hate right now. they seem VERY slow to change. They still support the ownership of the Padres, so what else can you expect? They must not be smokers

Please please please. It would be nice to get a conference victory once in awhile. Staying in the Big East would give DePaul maybe a 0.0005% chance of ever making the NCAA Tournament again, while going to the Horizon League would probably give us a 25% chance. Unless the TCU move is football only, I don't see how they go with 17 teams in basketball (and DePaul is the only team I can see them readily giving up) Notre Dame? The Big East would never give up ND until they had to

This has nothing to do with your response. Both QBs got their teams just as far until Sunday. Then the Packers got farther. I don't know how you can interpret that as anything but he just knows how to win when it matters-ism.

I wonder if Cutler being a Vanderbilt guy affects the way he's perceived by both media and his peers. I always sensed a certain pretty boy college guy thinks he's better than us disgust from the media with regards to Prior. I don't know just seems if Cutler went to the U, he'd have more respect.

Are you flipping high? Aaron Rodgers had a QB rating in the 50's yesterday and was fairly ineffective after the first quarter. How the hell is he the reason the Packers advanced past the Bears in the NFC title game, which is where Cutler led his team? I'm guessing he's referring to more than just one game. Rodgers was one of the best QB's in the league this year and had two amazing playoff games before the NFC Championship game. With all the injuries they've had, he's a big reason why they're in the Super Bowl right now. Well that makes no sense considering both Cutler and Rodgers brought their teams to the NFC Championship game.

Kind of an easy position to take when you just fabricate the part about Big Ben being regarded as a hero out of thin air. There may be a few dopes out there who talk (somewhat correctly) about how Big Ben just wins games or whatever but pretty much everyone considers him a creep don't they? I assumed he was referring to the sportsnation poll reference earlier.

I don't understand where anyone was coming from on this. I heard all the meatheads at the bar saying how he was scared so he begged out of the game. How in the [expletive] does that make any sense as it's coming out of your mouth? He's missed one game in his career and it was because he was getting murdered on the field the week before. But yeah, he's the type to beg out of a game with a minor injury. I was in and out of the game. I saw that Cutler played the first series, then he was done. It seemed odd at the time that his injury was so severe that they needed all of three minutes and no taking him to the locker room to check him out. Then I read that he hurt the knee before the half. So honestly, what did you think happened? They didn't score on the first series, and Jay figured the game was over so he faked an injury? I mean, I understand it's retrospect, but do you understand how ridiculous you sound?
