Indiana isn't Kentucky. IU fans may be very -- very -- forgiving of boorish behavior from their coach, but I think the program/fans/school have proved that recruiting/winning is not the only concern (after an obviously gigantic misstep). Sampson wasn't fired until they were forced to. After the truth was coming out, the fake Assembly Hall was belting out Kel-Vin Samp-Son clap clap clap clap clap.

I'll concede the CBA point. Things could get really screwy, and it's probably best to lock in players while you can rather than get stuck with a lowered/hard cap

I'd obviously love either one, but I don't see how the contracts match up for either one. Both are in their last years of their contracts, and the big(ger) contracts that would have to go back would be O' Neal or Robinson (or both) and they both suck and are signed through next year. That and we don't have a young guy to send back to make it worth their time to take on the bad contract(s) I don't think Bradley, Erden, or Harangody is going to get anybody to care.

I'd gladly take Villanueva's bad contract off their hands in return for Jermaine O' Neal...but I feel like there may be a barricade or 2 preventing that.

Where are people getting this and why does it keep getting repeated? They're in the middle of trying to sell the franchise. It's not happening. I haven't looked into it that much. Are they really going to DNP-CD Rip from here until the end of his contract? I don't see anyone picking up that contract any time soon. No not forever but they aren't buying him out this year. Maybe after the new CBA gets finalized they try to work something out but not during this season. I keep seeing national guys talk about how the Celtics or Bulls or whoever would have interest if he was bought out. Well no [expletive]. Most contenders would have interest if it doesn't cost anything. The local guys (plus Marc Stein and others who use some sense) have said there's no way he's getting bought out this year. i would imagine that starting for the bulls would interest rip more than playing for any other contender. Who you gonna get to kill Bogans?

Yeah, I don't like this trade from the Knicks perspective. I wouldn't like it from the Bulls perspective either, as they have a potentially more difficult 1st round matchup this year.

Couple minor corrections on your post CCP. OSU will be playing on 1 days rest tomorrow against Illinois (I smell a conspiracy) CBS had the option to pick this game up for Saturday or Sunday, since both teams suck, it got shuffled to the BTN. Kenpom has IU playing Wisconsin on the Wednesday before...was that game moved?
