  1. See my edit. He fills a role a lot better than Murphy would.
  2. They're both fairly worthless, but it's not like they were making any money. I have to assume for my sanity's sake that they're clearing as much space as possible for signing a guy who gets bought out. And as much as I hate Nate Robinson, and as much as I want Avery Bradley to get a shot, I am not ok with our backcourt depth at all. Von Wafer as the 2nd guard off the bench?? Yeesh
  3. Considering he has the best DRating on the team, and the second team of Asik-Gibson has been the best statistical in-the-paint defense in the NBA this year, I'd say Asik contributes appropriately. He has a bunch of holes in his game offensively, but he's already one of the best big men defenders in the NBA in his rookie year. Is DRating the same stat that was listed previously that had Boozer as a really good defender?
  4. Getting rid of Nate Robinson always helps. IMB, please sell me on Krstic. I'm not real excited about counting on Shaq to play 30 minutes come playoff time.
  5. How much of Asik's "shutdown" defense is coming from him and how much is coming from Thibodeaux?
  6. I think you're underselling Gibson by quite a bit. You can find 7 foot stiffs anywhere
  7. They have to cut corners somewhere if they're going to be able to afford Pujols. And the team bar tab And it's been a few years, so probably funeral costs as well. Did I go too far? Hancock did them a favor and self-cremated.

  9. I think Indiana fans are expecting too much out of Zeller next year. Only the most dominant HS big men come and have a huge impact their freshman year. It's not a guarantee he'll be any better than the interchangable white guys that are already there.
  10. I hear Joey Dorsey was magna [expletive] laude.
  11. With a legitimate post player, I think IU could be a much better team. I've been impressed with Oladipo and Sheehey, and Watford/Jones/Hulls/Creek are all solid players. Adding Zeller to the mix could make them a tourney team next year IMO. No.
  12. His voice is awful, but he's nowhere near as annoying as King
  13. Interesting strategy Cotton
  14. Not sure about that. I do think that the Nets got a better player than the Knicks did this week, and gave up less going forward. agreed, but they didn't get him to sign an extension. not sure who made out better. it will depend on whether or not deron ultimately stays in NJ. but yea, i lol'd when i checked espn.com and saw that the nets ended up getting a better player anyways I think him not signing the extension is a good thing. If he does sign it will be after the new CBA so the price will almost certainly be lower. If not they can probably flip him somewhere next year and at least bring back what they gave up to acquire him. I thought I read that he wasn't able to sign an extension until 7/1 (which is after the CBA expires)
  15. I don't really give a poop. He shouldn't have had to go to college for a year anyways when it was clear he didn't want or need to. But let's not make him a saint or anything because he's really good at basketball. He didn't go to college, he went to Memphis
  16. I'm a big enough sucker that if I could convince people to go to opening day, I'd have already purchased the pre-sale. Gonna try and be patient and not buy any tomorrow.
  17. From Elias Sports Bureau in the ESPN recap... For the third time this season, the Toronto Raptors did not make a 3-pointer. (They were 0-5 from the 3-point line on Wednesday against the Bulls.) Earlier this season their streak of 986 consecutive games with a made three-pointer came to an end. Wednesday marks only the second time in franchise history that the Raptors won a game in which they did not make a 3-pointer. The other instance was Nov. 4, 1997. That day, they went 0-for-7 behind the arc in a 104-86 win over the Golden State Warriors. That's gotta be close to a points scored record without a 3 (since the rule change obviously)
  18. He know bull [expletive]
  19. I just saw on BTF that the Raptors didn't hit a single 3 in the game. That seems...outrageous.
  20. Cappobianco is the biggest goon in the Big Ten since...? Derek Elston Ok, who stole my joke on the scout board.
  21. And I don't care that they're 11-2 in conference, they still need to do something to belong a tourney berth (even with a horrendous bubble)
  22. I know nobody anywhere is watching the Bama/Auburn game, but a player from Alabama seriously just shot a free throw and immediately followed the shot.

  24. Daniel Moore, getting minutes down the stretch.
