  1. Wonder if they miss a season if Kobe calls it quits. Same goes for Garnett and Duncan. Duncan and Garnett very well might, they are both post players who would be about 37 years old. I doubt Kobe would though. I doubt KG will. I could see Duncan.
  2. I'd love to bump a davearm post to give him an I told you so, but I realized I can just do it for any bad move the Cubs have made in the past 5 years.
  3. So if a Castro trade was worthwhile you wouldn't make it? I get what you're saying in theory, but a worthwhile Castro trade isn't realistic. A worthwhile Geo trade isn't bloody likely either.
  4. That is to say, walk off the field, grab his glove and head out to CF.
  5. No he hasn't. He started the first game of the doubleheader. Day game after night game and a game of a doubleheader is far from egregious.
  6. If only some collective groupthink mind could've forseen that Grabow was a bad signing.
  7. So if a Castro trade was worthwhile you wouldn't make it?
  8. How bad are Doug Davis and the Giants offense if Marcos freaking Mateo is shutting them down over 4 innings? I like Mateo
  9. I wonder if there'd be a stink raised if Kerry got traded and immediately re-signed with the Cubs for way under market value. I vaguely remember San Fran making a big deal about Ponson signing with Baltimore the year after they traded him away, insinuating there was a backroom deal in place.
  10. It's pretty tough to say with the uncertain CBA, but I'd have to imagine Gibson will get overpaid on an open market.
  11. Doesn't mean we have to give up actual talent for him.
  12. Agreed, if he never makes it out of the Rookie league. But I think with his athleticism he will at least play a few games in the majors as a defensive replacement. He was out of Rookie ball this year OPSing 839
  13. Is it really fair to compare bonuses from 2004 to 2009?
  14. What's he supposed to do run around his office screaming "ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod?" Lol, first comment on the article: ETA: and for good measure, here's the third:
  15. I can. he looks it. Just because you sleep in a cryogenic anti-aging chamber doesn't mean everyone does
  16. I do get the suspicion we're holding on to Pena, with the thought that he's our fallback if Pujols or Fielder don't materialize.
  17. He was already replaced. By Darwin Barney. It's in the title of the post.
  18. I don't know where the Red Sox would put Pena, unless they DH him or Gonzalez. He wouldn't go to Philly unless Ryan Howard would get some sort of season-ending injury. David Ortiz is like the best hitter in baseball right now.
