  1. Where are we gonna find our Lyle Overbay and Kevin Correia at?
  2. Yes, and Joe Mauer will be catching for one of them. Catching pitches from Cliff Lee.
  3. Yes, and Joe Mauer will be catching for one of them.
  4. And 10-12 other teams suck again in 2011 after they sucked the year before, including the Cubs. Just because something has been done before doesn't make it a likely scenario, nor should the Cubs front office make decisions under a polyanna-ish assumption that they're going to be the exception from the norm. Roughly half the teams with losing records last year have winning records this year.
  5. Suck my expletive American League!
  6. It is in Phoenix Then they should've called Matt Williams in March and told him to cycle up(if that's not a phrase it ought to be). He looked like he was going to die by the time he ran to first.
  7. It is in Phoenix
  8. My god yes, I didn't come into this thread to share my wealth of soccer knowledge, which I apparently have none. Maybe I had [expletive] coaches, maybe I was sick the day they talked about red cards, or maybe I just didn't give a crap and was off in my own world not listening. You were on a 4 day holiday of some sort.
  9. Jordin Sparks has done quite well for herself.
  10. I'm amazed at how terrible some of these guys are at softball.
  11. MFer Windermere
  12. took me one minute on yahoo to find 3 sources http://www.todayszaman.com/newsDetail_getNewsById.action?load=detay&newsId=243687&link=243687 http://thedailynewsegypt.com/football/saving-the-beautiful-game-a-radical-revision-of-the-rules-of-football-part-2.html http://soccerlens.com/saving-the-beautiful-game-a-radical-revision-of-the-rules-of-football/69633/ Those are all the same article. And none of them mention FIFA re-considering anything. It's ok, you were probably watching futbol at the time.
  13. Archer was absolutely a depth guy. He was a raw 20 year old arm with no control who wasn't a top 10 prospect for Cleveland. ETA:
  14. even in that case he should know about red cards. Hey jerks! I know what the heck a redcard is but they made it sound like they were playing with one less player on the field. I mean sure they had a player who was unable to come back into the game but that wasn't what they made it sound like. Also I only watched the last 30 minutes so I didn't see the redcard which would have made more sense. I don't think being a player down would really be that big of a deal though, a well trained player should be able to play most the game without resting, its not like you are sprinting constantly, half the time you sit and wait for the ball to get near you. Was it a good player who was kicked out or a sub? KO WTF! Seriously how old are you? Is this RedFlash? It wasn't that they made it sound like they were playing with 1 less player, its that they actually were playing with 1 less player. The players had no problem playing the whole game down a man, but being down a goal and having to reorganize the defense and still push forward down a man against any quality team is not a simple task. lol it probably is redflash You know who played soccer for a long time and is around 24 years old?
  15. Or he could get hurt tomorrow and be worthless. There's no reason to trade Pena just to get more filler, doing so because it is the highest offer is dumb. The possibility that Price Fielder shatters his femur isn't reason enough to hold on to Carlos Pena.
  16. And Peoria lost today, dropping them 3-3 when Szczur isn't around.
  17. Well yeah, you passive-agressively are. You're not using a good base of critical analysis to bring up the topic, you're looking at a largely unimportant statistic in an absurdly small sample size (even figuring in those games he missed due to injuries around graduation, you're talking about 11 games with far from a normal distribution of starting pitchers or opponents.) If there had been whispers of Szcur having issues with his teammates, it could be something to base things on. If he wasn't a FCS national champion in football (a sport that relies a lot more on the team concept than baseball) compiling a 37-10 career record, there might be something to base it on. Instead, we've got the equivalent of Catcher's ERA.
  18. Szczur was gone for over a week for his graduation - the team was 5-4. Remember the speculation on this board that he must have had a really good time. Not true. He was hurt and gone for graduation. The time frames just happened to coincide. Yep it was in the Peoria Journal-Star as well as reported by the Chiefs radio announcer that Szczur was gone for the weekend series in Kane County, and missed the remainder of the games (during which they went 5-5 in total, not 5-4) due to nagging injuries. Unless your theory is he only has the negative effect while actually playing as opposed to being around the team in the clubhouse with injuries.
  19. I don't like to speak in absolutes, but there is a 0% chance Fielder is re-signed before open free agency begins.
  20. I can live with the fan voting, but you can't have fan voting AND player voting AND manager picks AND 1 player per team minimums. The players vote from the pool of all player, and then their consensus gets voted by fans so you go to their 2nd pick, but then he gets hurt, and their 3rd pick was chosen by the manager, so you go to their 4th pick and Scott Rolen makes the all-star team because 8 moron players happened to vote for him. The manager has to take 1 2003 Devil Ray, but all the position player slots have been filled, so he can't take a worthy Aubrey Huff, so you wind up with Lance Carter, all-star.
  21. Just one of the many reasons I'm a better fan than you.
  22. When Szczur was not with Peoria during his college graduation, the team went 1-2. When Szczur was not with the Chiefs as he went to the Futures game the team went on a 2 game winning streak.
  23. I know Crow because he was a high draft pick. David Robertson, I only learned because I saw his absurd stats when he came on in relief vs. the Cubs. I was stunned that Avila was the leading vote getter at catcher, and still don't quite understand how this is happening with Joyce and Vogelsong.
