    What's to get excited about? You think they are going to announce anything on a sports radio show at 7AM? It's just a interview. Big whoop! If they had nothing to say at a time like this, they wouldn't go on the radio. I have a hard time believing it's "just a(n) interview." The micks just want to hear how Henry and Lucchino's familes are doing.

    Well that settles that then. Better lock up Carlos Pena. He said that while Chicago is a great place to play, these guys want to win and are not going to want to wait around for any type of rebuilding process that could takes years. If the Cubs offer the most money, they will play here. If Pujols does test the FA waters and STL isnt offering enough, there will be 2 premier FA 1B available and the 2 usual suspects will be out of the running due to having premier 1B. So we're looking at the Cubs, Angels, maybe Dodgers, maybe Mets fighting for 2 guys. The Cubs are no further away from competing than any of those teams except the Angels. I have more money than the Dodgers and Mets.

    It gives them 6 football schools, so the entire conference is in the hands of the ACC. They say "yes please" to UConn and Rutgers/West Virginia and the whole thing is shot. Given that Pitt and Cuse had fled, this probably helps or at least doesn't really hurt. I can't imagine what's left of the Big East being happy to travel non-fb sports to Texas. That conference is down the tubes either way. I can't imagine they're too happy about traveling to Milwaukee for non-fb sports either. Traveling to Milwaukee for any reason really.

    huh? the guy is under 40 and is the GM of a MLB team-he didnt get there by backing his way in. He isn't weighing opportunity against social ties, he's weighing opportunity vs opportunity. Boston is either negotiating a trade with Ricketts or offered him something of a relative equal position. There's more to it than x vs y, or Beane would be sitting in the Boston GM Chair instead of Theo. Boston doesn't really have an equivalent position to offer. Beane has ownership = more then Boston could offer. They couldn't just pay him the 400M to buy out his 4% share?
