Ryne Sandberg minor league winning percentage: .516 Mike Quade minor league winning percentage: .509 Ryno's been better in the minors than Quade, but it's not a particularly significant difference. And Quade had at least one winning season at every level he managed at as well. Both managers have overall losing records at the A-ball level as well. Is a .007 better winning percentage in the minors the difference between a poor MLB manager and a good MLB manager? then what are you looking for, he has done everything asked of him and probably has learned a lot. Girardi's knowledge came from the fact he had to manage from the field as a catcher, yet like Dusty at SF, he was surrounded by talent at FL and NY. So, we really don't know if he is and incredibly, talented coach or just lucky to end up in good positions Who said anything about Girardi? what I was trying to point out is that many point to very successful manager that became such because of the owners willingness to surround them with incredibly talented players, and then continue to pay those players very well to hang around for a long time, thus making a manager look even better. We can't judge Sandberg as a manager based solely on the minors, or solely on his major league career, but together we get a little indication of his potential and willingness to learn, listen and monitor and adjust to the different levels he has been called to manage. The only way we can truly know if anybody can handle the majors is to make them a manager, like being President, previous experiences can give indications but you never no what they will do until they are in that position. I personally believe he has paid enough dues to warrant a shot. What's your opinion on Darren Bush?

I think we should hire Darren Bush. He's done everything asked of him and probably learned a lot. Better career record than Sandberg too.

I'd say they were fairly successful. successful at being douchebags sure. they were built to win a title and anything less than winning the title is not considered a successful year. So thus far they are batting 0%. that's a silly, emotionally driven statement. it was basically those 3 guys, a little james jones, and a bunch of garbage and they got to the 6th game of the damn nba finals in their first season together. Ill stop after this because its off topic but so you are saying that LeBron and Wade are happy about their successful season last year? Or that they should be happy that 2 of the top 3-4 players in the NBA along with a top 25 player ni the NBA could not win the title. I don't care about how the supporting cast was. You put together those 3 talents and the expectation is to win a championship and they did not so it was not successful. OK Im done. Should have just used the real Dream Team like I tried to. I think they'll be ok with going to the NBA Finals every year and winning a few.

yeah this has been very odd. out of all the schools, the hatred from ksu has been astounding. i think a big portion is the guy kevin keitzman from kc radio. the mizzou boards have been quoting him non-stop on his propoganda against mizzou. kstate fans, much more than anyone, are taking this personally. its very odd. Keitzman is like KSU Jesus. Anything he says, they'll latch on to. From a PR position, though, MU hasn't handled this thing very well. In what way? Stuff that leaps to mind: 1. Deaton being the chair of the Big 12 while not being the committed to the conference just looks bad. 2. On the day the Big 12 was "saved," Deaton (The chair of the Big 12) was suddenly very wishy-washy in the resulting press conference as to his school's commitment to the conference. 3. After a BoC meeting regarding conf. realignment, the BoC snuck out the back door instead of addressing the assembled press. 4. A Mizzou wonk said, off-the-record, they preferred the B1G, but the SEC is what's left. 5. Missouri has continued to waffle, which is somewhat understandable considering the legal implications and the fact they have to wait for SEC votes, but it has seemed like they're stringing the Big 12 along, who can't move on replacing them until they know if they have to replace them. 6. Missouri trying to pin the hit KC economy will take if they leave on KU. 7. Mizzou saying "they wish the Big 12 well" while also saying they have not yet made a decision on whether to leave. 8. lezbehonest, this game was exciting because it was played/managed terribly (just saying it wasn't exactly some triumphant example of great baseball) Let's be honest an NFL where you can't breathe on the qb isn't really football anymore. And the Jaguars/Ravens game was about as bad as pro football gets. AND HIS [expletive] TEAM WAS PLAYING IN THE WORLD SERIES
