  1. 13 is a lot of losses, even if none were bad. I'm sure it's happened but I can't remember the last time an at-large got in with so many. The B1G is a very good conference this year, but if you're gonna be 8-10 in any league, you'd better have a bunch of good wins. NU only has one really good one (MSU). JMHO. I'm down on Northwestern, but the Big 10 had 4 teams make it with 13 or 14 losses last year. (Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State)
  2. HE'S RUNNING OFF THE ENTIRE TEAM TO FEED HIS EGO!!!
  3. And half their roster was suspended during the middle of the year. Does that count like injuries, or do we not give them the benefit of the doubt for causing fights in a game? I don't give them a bonus for that since it was self-inflicted.
  4. I believe we've been better than average every season(always better than that shmuck Lunardi), and usually in the top 10 out of 60 or so that are judged.
  5. I like Xavier a lot. They have the standard A-10 conference resume, but they add wins @ Vandy, vs. Purdue, and vs. Cincy. (And a BAD loss to Hawaii
  6. I don't think either's getting in as an at-large. Probably not, but the loser can be shot into the sun.
  7. UMass/St. Bonnie has to be an elimination game.
  8. If it makes you feel better, you're our highest 3 right now. Though you'll probably drop a couple spots. (Edited embarrassing typo)
  9. My thing, as I alluded to earlier in the thread, is that there's so little differentiating these bubble teams that 1/30 can still make a big difference. Especially when they're playing each other.
  10. Jordan Taylor did play terribly though.
  11. Who in the hell are any Indiana players not named Zeller? Seriously. Somebody's obviously never heard of Gary Harris.
  12. Every team that presses at some point in a game is not a Mike Anderson clone. Smart's fastest tempo team was slower than Anderson's slowest. I didn't say they were, but the effectiveness of their defenses rely on the same principles, and their vulnerabilities (rebounding) are also similar. Even if Smart runs a slower tempo on offense, the way VCU loses isn't that much different than the way Missouri lost under Anderson. How many VCU losses have you seen?
  13. When you lose a deadeye shooter like Verdell Jones you have to make do.
  14. And I bet my ranking of Temple skewed them higher than they ordinarily would be, and now I hate them.
  15. shaka doesn't run a full court press all the time. they will press at any point on the court at any time, but it is not a gimmick like 40 minutes of hell. "Shaka" is probably the best name in coaching. Someone in Champaign will have to come up with a clever slogan to print on t-shirts. Off the top of my head: "Orange Shaka!!!" On the less high-minded side, "Give em' the Shaka!" (and a pic of the hand gesture below the print). This just reminded me to never read a newspaper headline about him ever.
  16. I'll relent somewhat on Washington. Much of their resume was built in tight losses to Duke and Marquette. But when you follow that up a week later by losing to South Dakota State it's hard to feel sorry for them. No terrible losses, and they went 3-2 against the other P12 teams we seriously considered. It's certainly not a good resume, but I'm not ready to fully write them off.
  17. Every team that presses at some point in a game is not a Mike Anderson clone. Smart's fastest tempo team was slower than Anderson's slowest.
  18. Wow. So UMass back to the consideration pool, Temple out of the S-Curve? I'd fight for FSU or KSU
  19. I too, included the Louisville outcome in my rankings. I don't see much of a difference between Lamar and UT-Whatever. If Lamar loses, McNeese should probably drop to a 16.
  20. Holy [expletive], they really are $140.
  21. 53. Belmont (Atlantic Sun) Albuquerque vs. Wichita State 54. Davidson (Southern) Nashville vs. Michigan 55. South Dakota State (Summit) Albuquerque vs. Baylor 56. WAC (New Mexico State) Columbus vs. Wisconsin 57. MAC (Ohio) - Nashville vs. Marquette 58. Montana (Big Sky) - Louisville vs. IU
  22. Yup. At least for the Boston games. What? $78 face 12% entertainment fee would be $9.36 $53 shipping charge per ticket? UMFan gets his shipped overnight in a solid gold envelope.
  23. Wait, $140 each?
  24. Only conflict to avoid from the low seeds locked in is that Davidson can't play Wichita. What's the story on a team like Ohio playing in Columbus or NMSU playing in Albuquerque?
