I want nothing to do with Pierce or Garnett, personally. Why? Because I'm not convinced that Rose comes back at 100% this year, so that still doesn't put us in a position to win this season. If you're not gunning for it all this year, it's better to save the assets and get younger players when the time is right. Plus, as a bonus to the logic of the whole thing, Garnett is a raging anus and Pierce is a drama queen. You root for a team with Joakim Noah on it, and probably owned a Dennis Rodman jersey. ETA: And that's not to mention Michael Jordan

Depends on whether you are talking about an ideal situation or a realistic one that MLB would go for. Shortening the playoffs is a non-starter for the latter. Any realignment idea needs a minimum of 10 playoff teams at this point.
