Yea. His silly list also left off the 3 florida programs that have had as much or more success than bama over the last 20 years. Either you missed my point or I'm missing yours. Do you think any of those Florida jobs are better than Bama?

Doesn't this process of team building lead to higher variation from year to year and make it more difficult to build any sort of sustained success? ETA: What I mean is having a stud player gives you more margin for error when guys fall off. When you don't have a cushion in place and your 105 OPS+ falls to an 80 in one year, then what? It's easier to replace an 80 that drops to a 55 in-season than the 105

If I'm being honest, Michigan and Ohio State are better examples. They are similar in geography, and obviously in our conference.. Yeah, they're not really better examples. Relative to the Big Ten, Michigan and Ohio State are situated in fertile recruiting grounds, and each have a national brand that brings in high-level recruits from all over the country. Additionally each have very strong academic institutions and there's been a recent trend where elite academic schools are bringing in stronger and stronger recruits i.e. Stanford, Northwestern, Vanderbilt. Compare this to Nebraska where there are what, 3 D1 football recruits a year? And i'm pretty sure that Nebraska is the only school in the Big Ten that doesn't have AAU certification, which I believe they lost shortly after joining the conference. Add those two variables up, and Michigan and Ohio State are in different stratospheres on a go-forward basis, regardless of how Hoke's tenure will end up. The fact that Stanford, NU, and Vandy have had some success doesn't mean the academic standing of a school has anything to do with bringing in good recruits. I mean, the SEC is still a thing.

I like to get my hopes up about our prospects becoming studs so we can trade them away. You'd have to be more down on Ricketts than davell and me combined to think we couldn't keep Bryant past 2020. Jesus, Boras will be 68 years old by then, he may not even be a thing by that point. -

Fell into a BR wormhole and found that Sosa's worst OBP month in '98 was his insane June where he hit 20 HRs. How does a guy that dialed in only receive 6 BBs?? It's not like his approach hadn't changed by this point, he'd drawn 27 walks in the first 2 months of the season.

Our 2nd highest point getter is tied for 8th (out of 12) at 4-7. Meanwhile I started 1-7 and have had everything break for me thus far the last 3 weeks to keep me in contention. I'll almost certainly blow it week 13.
